Serious Rollover Crash In Springfield Injures Two

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Another serious crash in Springfield sent two people to area hospitals following a two-vehicle rollover Friday night.

The crash occurred on Main St at 22nd Ave around 12:20 am. MAP The collision sent one of the vehicles (an SUV) rolling up the driveway of a home while the other vehicle (a passenger car) careened up an embankment, through a fence, and into an adjacent field. One person from each vehicle was transported to area hospitals, we do not know the extent of their injuries.

After the crash, one of the injured occupants walked up 22nd Ave East looking for help. With the assistance of a neighbor, the injured man was located several houses down from the crash site.

Fortunately, there was no one in the path of the SUV as it tumbled up the driveway of a home landing upside down on its roof. Glass and vehicle parts were scattered all up the drive.

We are working to get more information on the condition of the occupants and the possible cause of the crash. The Springfield Police Department is leading the investigation. As soon as they are prepared to release their findings we will bring it to you.

Traffic was light on Main Street while Springfield Police investigated the crash so there was no major effect on traffic flow. It took about 1.5 hours to completely clear the scene and remove all the debris.

This crash has similar dynamics to another neighborhood crash in Springfield that occurred just days ago. On Tuesday a vehicle left the roadway off Central Ave and impacted two homes and a parked SUV. FULL STORY
