Smokey Barn News, July 21, 2013
This weekend the Long Hollow Baptist Church came out in force to offer free labor on many projects across the community. Smokey caught up with them at Bransford Elementary School.
The number of people that were there painting was almost frightening. It was like a swarm of bees had attacked the school with paint brushes. Long Hollow has members in the thousands and over the past few weeks have been going over scriptures that reference serving the community. Looks like the teaching stuck because it seemed to me that they all showed up.

For Bransford Elementary School it was a coat of paint but there were projects all over the county.
Other projects (mostly this weekend) were done at the Bransford Project, the Child Advocacy Center, HATS, Home Safe, Krisle Elementary School, Meals On Wheels, Open Door Pregnancy Center, Springfield High School, Springfield Middle School, Westside Elementary, Cheatham Park Elementary and Watauga Elementary. It was truly a remarkable thing to see.
It’s amazing what you can get done with several thousand people. What a wonderful world it would be if we all acted like this. You could paint your entire home in nine minutes.
