Winston Cup Champion Bobby Allison Coming To Highland Rim
MILLERSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Officials with Highland Rim Speedway today announced that NASCAR Hall of Fame Member, 1983 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion and 7-Time Most Popular Driver Bobby Allison will be in attendance for racing events at the Speedway on Saturday, September 19, 2015.
Allison, an original member of the famed “Alabama Gang” will be on hand to sign autographs for fans, as well as take in the exciting racing action at the 1/4 mile bullring in Robertson County, where his grandson Robbie Allison has competed for the latter part of the 2015 Racing Season. Allison competed at the short track several times throughout his career, competing in thrilling races with the local drivers, as well as one occasion when he tangled with local hero James Climer, sending Climer’s car careening into the wall, and subsequently balancing on top of it.
In addition to the appearance by Bobby Allison, track officials have also confirmed that the Texaco-Havoline Ford driven by Davey Allison in the 1988 Daytona 500 (where he finished 2nd with Bobby) will be on display at the track on September 19.
102.5 FM The Game will be live-broadcasting from the track on September 19 from 5-7pm, and Bobby Allison will be signing autographs for fans from 5:30-6:30pm.
Following the autograph session, fans will be treated to an excellent racing card for the night, topped off by the return of the Pro-8 Late Model Division with the 125 Lap Fall Brawl Race presented by Midwest Metals Corporation of Nashville.
