5th COVID Death Reported At Springfield Assisted Living Center Amid Recoveries

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –The Springfield Heights assisted living by Americare in Springfield TN today issued an update on the COVID-19 cases at the facility.

At the Springfield Heights facility, there have been a total of five resident deaths, the most recent over this past weekend.

Twelve residents have successfully recovered from the virus and two residents are still being treated and doing well. Five employees have recovered fully, and two employees are still positive but doing well.

All residents remain on in-room quarantine. All staff continues wearing N95 masks while in the building and gloves while in resident rooms.

Update on the 4th death reported:

After receiving messages from family members of one of the decedents, Smokey Barn News reached out to Americare for clarification on the classification of a COVID-19 death. They are confirming that the most recent COVID-19 death died “with” COVID-19 not “of” COVID-19.

Americare’s statement.

“The resident she speaks of was taken to the hospital with cardiac issues. That is true but because the patient was COVID-19 positive, that is how we are required to report it. Any other explanation would have to come from the health department.” Americare
