8 Month Old Rescued By Firefighters After Rollover Into Creek

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – An adult and an 8-month-old are lucky to be alive after their vehicle left the road and rolled down an embankment, landing upside down in a creek.

The accident occurred on Memorial Blvd at S. Pawnee Dr in Springfield just before 11 pm. LOCATION OF ACCIDENT As the vehicle left the road it appears to have impacted a bridge before rolling down a steep embankment, landing upside down on its roof in the creek. Fortunately, the creek was low.

Smokey Barn News arrived just as Springfield Firefighters were bringing the child up to the street. According to officials, the child was upside down in the inverted vehicle still locked in a child safety seat. As firefighters climbed down the embankment they could hear the child crying, a good sign the child was in reasonable shape. The adult was able to climb out on their own.

As it turned out, both the child and the adult escaped the accident with nothing more than a few scrapes.

The Springfield Police Department is investigating the crash but a cause was not immediately available.

The Springfield Fire Department, the Springfield Police Department, Robertson County EMS, and the THP all responded to the scene.
