New Details Emerge on Sunday Morning’s I-65 Two-Vehicle Fiery Rollover Crash
CROSS PLAINS, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Here’s a look at the fiery crash that occurred early Sunday morning. The crash occurred on I-65 North at mile marker 114, just north of Highway 25, the first call coming into 911 around 2:00 a.m. LOCATION OF CRASH
According to Cross Plains Fire Chief Tommy Jackson, none of the occupants sustained life-threatening injuries, although one person was transported to an area hospital. The crash involved a box truck that overturned onto its side in the center median, along with a passenger vehicle that became fully engulfed in flames.
Both vehicles came to rest in the center median of I-65, allowing traffic to continue moving—albeit slowly—even as firefighters battled the blaze. Despite the intense scene, interstate traffic was never fully stopped.
One official told Smokey Barn News that all of the occupants were extremely fortunate to have escaped without critical or life-threatening injuries, calling it nothing short of a miracle.
Fire crews from the Cross Plains Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency worked quickly to extinguish the flames and clear the wreckage, preventing further disruption. Miraculously, no serious injuries were reported.
