Bobby Joe Huffines
(lovingly known as Robert)
June 15, 1941 – May 21, 2026

Bobby Joe Huffines, lovingly known as Robert, passed away on May 21, 2026. Born on June 15, 1941, in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, to the late Fred and Lucille Huffines. He would grow up in the Franklin, Kentucky area and would go on to live a life marked by a deep dedication to his family, his craft, and his passions, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, intelligence, and steadfastness.

Robert dedicated his professional life to the construction of residential homes as a contractor. His hands, skilled and steady, built more than houses—they helped create homes for countless families. Beyond his career, he was a man who found great joy and purpose in working with cars, particularly old cars and hot rods. He self-taught himself mechanics, painting, and bodywork. He was proud of his ability to fix and build cars from the ground up. His passion extended beyond the workshop; he loved attending car shows, immersing himself in the vibrant culture of automotive enthusiasts. When unable to attend in person, he found satisfaction in watching car shows on television, never letting distance dim his love for this hobby.

Among those who knew him best, Bobby Joe Huffines is remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a good man—kind-hearted and intelligent—who stood up for himself and others with quiet strength and integrity. His remarkable character and unwavering support enriched the lives of his family and friends alike.

Robert preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cathy Huffines, and sisters Mary Hethcoat and Beverly Sloan, and nephew Shannon Hethcoat. He is survived by his daughter Wendy (Cary) Swift, granddaughter Brittany (Darion) Ahonen, grandson Austin Swift, and his great grandchildren: Kaydence Swift, Vera Swift, Delaney Swift, and soon to be born Jaxon Ahonen. He is also survived by his nephew Chris Deweese, niece Krystal Carton, and his partner Carolyn Rowland.

Pallbearers are to include: Tim Forrester, Junior Oden, Adam Oden, Dawson Oden, Devin Underwood, and Jospeh Carton.

Family, friends, and all who admired him are invited to honor his memory with a visitation on May 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The visitation will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home and Cremation Services in White House, Tennessee, located at 212 Highway 76. This will be followed immediately by a funeral service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Subsequently, a burial service will take place at White House Memorial Gardens, located at 3639 US-31W, White House, Tennessee, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Bobby Joe Huffines’s life was one of quiet dignity and powerful devotion—to his craftsmanship, his family, and the simple joys of life. He leaves behind memories that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy endures not only in the homes he helped build and the cars he so lovingly restored but in the kindness and strength he embodied throughout his life.

Brenda Pitzer Miller
January 12, 1950 – May 20, 2026

Brenda Pitzer Miller, age 76, passed away on May 20th, 2026. She was born on January 12, 1950 in Madison Tennessee. She quickly returned to her home in West Virginia where her father, Reverend George Pitzer, was the pastor at a Nazarene church with her mother, Irene (Sutton) Pitzer. Brenda spent the first 13 years of her life in several parsonages in West Virginia and always considered herself a true and faithful West Virginia Mountaineer. She cherished the memories of the good people of West Virginia and the churches her dad served. Her family then moved back to Madison, Tennessee in 1963.

Brenda had three wonderful children: Kenneth A. Heath (Leigh), Michelle Heath Loveland (Kenny) and Jerremy Miller (Mandy). Brenda and her husband of 53 years James, were blessed with grandchildren. Kaitlyn, Andrew, Eli, Ava, Skyler, and Maddox supplied Brenda a steady dose of happiness over the last 30 plus years. Brenda also became a great-grandmother to Landon and Anna. Being a grandma and a great grandma was one of the best parts of her life.

Brenda loved her work. She worked in the billing section for healthcare providers for over 25 years. Contributing to getting things done was important to her. Despite years of health challenges that would have retired some people, Brenda was devoted to her job and was proud of being a part of something good.

After retiring in 2012, she focused on a vegetable garden for a few years. She always said it was mostly for the rabbits, deer and groundhogs to stay healthy, and she grew tired of feeding them. Her primary focus was her rose bushes and the flower gardens. No matter how hot it was she was out there for hours nearly every day for the spring and summer months. She always enjoyed going back to West Virginia and Virginia to visit her brother-in-law, Jerry Miller (Diane) and family as often as her health allowed.

She is survived by 3 great brothers. David Pitzer (Teresa), Paul Pitzer (Dottie) and Tim Pitzer (JoAnn) were all a significant part of her life and she loved them all. Fortunately, James, and all her children and grandchildren are still here to carry her story on and to share her with those yet to be born. She was a perfect mentor for how to overcome or deal with life’s challenges. She made her place in our hearts forever. Her love, goodness, grit and faith never faded and made our lives what they are.

Cole & Garrett Funeral Home are to oversee the arrangements for Mrs. Brenda Pitzer Miller. A private family service will be held.
