Greenbrier Home Heavily Damaged by Fire on Distillery Road

GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – A two-story home in the 2500 block of Distillery Road sustained heavy fire, smoke, and water damage Wednesday morning after a fire spread from the second floor into the attic, leaving the residence uninhabitable.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:24 a.m. to a possible structure fire. The fire occurred within the Greenbrier Fire Department’s response area, with multiple neighboring departments assisting.

According to Greenbrier Fire Chief Kyle Hamill, Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack while conducting a primary search for occupants. Crews were able to bring the fire under control, preventing further destruction of the home.

Though it was a “good stop” for our local firefighters, flames had extended into the attic, requiring an extensive overhaul operation as firefighters worked to locate and extinguish remaining fire hidden within the structure.

Although firefighters were able to stop the fire, the home sustained significant damage. Officials estimate approximately 30% of the residence was damaged by fire, smoke, and water. The home is currently uninhabitable.

Assisting agencies included the Ridgetop, White House Community, Cross Plains, and Springfield Fire Departments, along with Robertson County Emergency Management and EMS.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined and is under investigation.

Fire officials expressed appreciation to the neighboring departments and emergency personnel who assisted in bringing the fire under control.
