Man With Knife Attempts Robbery At Springfield Gas Station
This morning (Thursday December 4th) around 10:51AM, a man wearing a camouflage coat and black hat allegedly walked into the Twice Daily’s Market on Tom Austin Hwy.
After entering the store police allege he brandished a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk refused to comply with the suspect’s demand and he then left the store without taking any money.
The suspect fled the scene driving a gold colored Jeep Cherokee. No one was injured during the incident, police said.
A short time later officer Chad Clinard with the Springfield Police Dept. spotted the suspect’s vehicle a short distance from the market. The suspect identified as Federico Osiel Ruiz age 51 of Springfield, TN was taken into custody without incident.
Ruiz was charged with (Attempted) Aggravated Robbery and he is being booked into the Robertson County detention facility this afternoon. His bond was set $15,000.00.

I am completely disappointed with this guy, know him very well, and not, he is not illegal, I work around these guys all the time, they are very hard working people and of course bad apples exist but in all races,. I think we all Americans need to live by example and I know we tired of all this but let’s vote in the right officials in office and this will get better,
I know this guy from work, he is not illegal, just because you are Hispanic, it does not mean you are illegal. There is enough crime of all races in this city. We should be praying, he has had a lot of personal issues. Yes to all of these comments ,, you are racist and should be ashamed, and glad Jesus was never like any of you or we would all be damned. Pray for him, pray for our leaders, pray for this city.
