Greenbrier Man Dies In Fatal Portland Crash Tuesday
PORTLAND TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol is now releasing the identity of the individual that lost their life in a crash involving a tractor-trailer and an SUV in Portland this morning.
The accident occurred about a half-mile from the Kentucky state line at the intersection of US31w/ Hwy 109 around 10:15 am Tuesday morning. (LOCATION OF CRASH)
According to the THP, 62-year-old Joe Allen of Greenbrier, driving a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, was initially transported to Tristar Portland (TN) but later he succumbed to injuries he received in the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

Highway 31W reopened to traffic around 1 p.m.
According to the THP, the investigation is still ongoing so a preliminary description of the crash is not available. What we do know is that a 2020 Volvo CMV (tractor-trailer) and 1997 Chevrolet Blazer collided at the US31w/ Hwy 109.
