Accident Closes Highway 76 Sunday Evening
UPDATE: Hwy 76 is back open…
Highway 76 is currently closed due to a motor vehicle accident that occurred around 9:30pm Sunday evening. Officials with CEMC tell Smokey Barn News that highway 76 may be closed for 2 to 3 hours while crews replace the utility pole.
The accident is on highway 76 near the intersection of Bethlehem Road.
The vehicle struck the utility pole which caused it to snap at the base. The driver of the vehicle was transported to NorthCrest medical center with non-life-threatening injuries.
If you need to travel between Springfield and White House, we recommend choosing an alternative route.
If you live near Bethlehem Road and Highway 76, you can expect to have an interruption of electrical and phone services throughout the repair process. An At&T crew is also in route.
