Body Found In Cumberland River Believed To Be Missing Teen

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) -According to investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office a body has been recovered near Lock B South on the Cumberland River.

Officials tell Smokey Barn News that a fisherman called 911 at approximately 11:50 A.M. on January 26, to report a body located near the shoreline.

Based on preliminary information gathered at the scene, investigators believe the body to be that of missing 19-year-old teen Zach Marsh, however, the body will be sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and to determine cause of death.

Marsh’s vehicle was found abandoned on Jarrell Ridge Road on December 20, 2019, approximately five miles upstream from where the body was located.

Since Marsh’s disappearance, multiple agencies have conducted numerous searches in the area, including a 16-mile search of the river downstream from where his car was found.

Marsh’s vehicle was located abandoned on Jerrell Ridge Rd with the license plate removed. He was last heard from at approximately 5:30 PM the evening he went missing.

Zachary Aizik Marsh, 19, of Cumberland Furnace, TN.

Zach was born April 10, 2000, in Ft. Carson, CO to Erik Marsh and Sarah Bradley Alford.

Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Zach was a lumber specialist with Lowe’s.

Zach is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Frank Marsh.

In addition to his parents, Zach is survived by his step-father, Michael Alford; brother, Dyllan Alford; three sisters, Micayla Alford, Allyson Marsh and Kylie Alford; paternal grandparents, Joanne Farr, James Farr, and Carmen Marsh; and maternal grandparents, Brenda Williams, Rex Williams, David Bradley, and David Alford Sr.
