Boxcar Ignites Coming Through Springfield
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A boxcar containing straw, pork and metal racks ignited as a train was making its way through Springfield Tuesday afternoon.
The Springfield Fire department quickly extinguished the fire however the contents of the boxcar will need to be offloaded.
The burning boxcar rolled to a stop with the train just past the Depot Bar & Grill at the Cheatham St. crossing near downtown Springfield Tennessee. MAP
According to the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, the train may not move for a couple of hours. Some intersections may be blocked. If you’re traveling in the area please use caution and watch for first responders who may be walking in the roadway.
