Film Crew Showcases Historic Courthouse Square in New Toyota Ad
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – This week a film crew was set up around the Robertson County Courthouse Square in Springfield. Officials with the city confirmed that the crew was filming a Toyota commercial.
The crew utilized various locations around the Courthouse Square and set up camp at the Main Street Church of Christ parking lot for equipment and coordination. Fifth Avenue and parts of Main Street, which wrap around the square, were intermittently closed to accommodate the shoot.
Robertson County, particularly the Courthouse Square, has a long history of being used as a backdrop for movies, commercials, and music videos for decades. Notably, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson filmed a movie on this same square. (See video below)
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and the Springfield Police Department assisted with traffic control to ensure the smooth operation of the filming activities. Local businesses accommodated the film crew, who integrated into the downtown area for the day. The crew will be filming through Thursday, August 8.
Today Smokey Barn News learned of another filming project (a full-length feature film) set to begin filming in Springfield this week. We’ll keep you posted on that one.
