Greenbrier Teen Dies In Pleasant Grove Rd Crash
GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) A Greenbrier teen has died following a fatal crash near Cross Plains.
The crash occurred on Pleasant Grove Rd at Jernigan Rd on Sunday afternoon around 2:15 pm. LOCATION OF CRASH
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Kevin “Payton” Reid, 19, of Greenbrier lost his life in the crash.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary description of the crash, Kevin was traveling eastbound on Pleasant Grove Road on a downhill grade when his 2000 Toyota 4Runner SUV ran off the right side of the roadway.
The Trooper investigating the crash indicated that Kevin swerved and the vehicle re-entered the roadway and crossed the center line. Kevin then overcorrected causing the vehicle to go into a yaw (slid sideways) before it began to rollover. Kevin’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a standing tree. Kevin was wearing safety restraints.
According to Robertson County EMS, every effort was made to so save the teen but ultimately he succumbed to his injuries. Kevin was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Robertson County EMS, the Cross Plains Fire Department and Drake’s Towing & Repair all responded to the scene.
