 Hwy 49 Rollover Crash Claims One Life Friday Night

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –  A young lady has died following a serious rollover crash in Springfield Friday night.

The crash occurred on the 1500 block of Hwy 49 at WDBL Rd, the first call coming into 911 at 10:35 p.m. LOCATION OF CRASH

Robertson County EMS, The Springfield Fire Department, the Springfield Police Department, and the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency responded to the scene.

According to Robertson County EMS, the driver (a male in his early 20s) was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. A young adult female (an occupant in the vehicle and also in her early 20s) was in very critical condition and was receiving CPR when Smokey Barn News arrived on the scene. “Due to the severe nature of her injuries and her need for immediate trauma care, TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield offered the best chance for survival,” said Robertson County EMS Director Brent Dyer.  “And though every effort was made to save her life, ultimately she succumbed to her injuries.

“We work together very well with our healthcare partners at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center, and we are fortunate to have local access to emergency physicians and nursing colleagues trained in trauma resuscitation when time is of the essence and situations are at their worst,” Dyer added.

The crash took out two utility poles disrupting power in the area while officials investigated and the scenes was cleared. The crash area spanned almost a block making it difficult for Springfield Utilities to get access to the damage until athorties were done with their investigation.

UPDATE: The Tennessee Highway Patrol is now releasing more information about the crash. According to their preliminary report, 25-year-old Timiriah Robinson and 21-year-old Pierre Brown in the 2015 Chrysler 300 were traveling west on Highway 49 when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a mail then three utility poles. The vehicle, with Brown behind the wheel, then overturned numerous times before coming to rest in the parking lot of West End Free Will Baptist Church.

According to the THP, Timiriah Robinson did not survive the crash. Brown is facing charges that include; Vehicular Homicide and Simple Poss (Sch Ii). Also listed is the charge of Fabricating/Tampering With Evidence. PHOTO of Brown: RC JAIL.

This was one of two serious crashes in the Robertson County area almost simultaneously. Just minutes earlier crews were called to a crash involving 5 vehicles on I-65 requiring Robertson and Sumner County medical services. READ MORE-video available
