Obituary for Terry Wade Johnson
Terry Wade Johnson, 52, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday December 12, 2023. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday December 20th at 1:00 p.m. in the Mt. Sharon Cemetery with Pastor Gary Dillard officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the graveside service on Wednesday.
Terry was born April 10, 1971, in Houston, TX. He had formerly worked as an assembly technician and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Terry loved yard work, gardening, playing basketball, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by his father: Virgil Wayne Johnson, by his brother: Timothy Wayne Johnson, and by his grandparents: Fred and Allie Mae Malone, and Eva Dean Odom.
Terry is survived by his mother: Evelyn “Sam” Chaney of Springfield, by his daughter: Shaila May Johnson, and by his brother: James Stacey Chaney, Jr. of Springfield.

Susan Lynn Kellar “Suzie”, age 66 of White House passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Hendersonville Medical Center. She was born November 27, 1957 in Hollywood, FL to Marvin Buford & Mildred Irene Cheek Estes. She worked in maintenance for the U.S. Postal Service and had previously been employed as an administrative assistant for the FBI. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob Estes; sister, Betty Estes, niece, Jennifer Glover; dog, Logan. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Alan Kellar, White House, TN; brother, Bill Estes, Springfield, Tn; sister, Sandy (Phil) Westmoreland, Chapel Hill, TN; several nieces and nephews; dogs, Bach, Sam, Carli and Macy; cats, Sebastian, Tanner, Tommy, Kate and Mickey.

Ronald Joseph Harrell, “Ron”, age 76 of Cross Plains, TN passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his home. He was born January 4,1947 in Chesterfield, SC to Joseph & Louise Gardner Harrell. He was the owner and operator of Construction Southeast, Inc. for over 25 years in White House, TN before his retirement. He was a member of White House First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed building and helping his wife her flower gardening, watching Survivor and all kinds of television shows. He enjoyed spending time with his family most of all.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark Harrell. He is survived by his loving wife of 57-1/2 years, Sherry Harrell, Cross Plains, TN; daughters, Joan Catherine Busby, Portland, TN and Joanna Harrell Mikita, Cross Plains, TN; brother, Joseph (Leigh) Harrell, Nash County, NC; sisters, Jennifer (Greg) Smith, Goldsboro, NC and Elizabeth (Marion) Chadwick, Elizabeth City, NC; sister-in-law, Lisa Harrell, Mount Juliet, TN; 3 grandchildren, Taylor, Maureen and Madeline; 1 great-grandchild, Waylyn.

Frances Genelle Smith, age 79 of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Morningside of Springfield.
Her wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Mrs. Smith was born September 5, 1944 in Springfield to the late Virgil and Velma Rawls Pratt. She was a member of Mt. Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was an organist and a pianist and was retired from Unarco where she worked in the payroll department. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Smith; a daughter, Julie Richardson; and brothers, Joe, Billy, and Glenn Pratt.
Surviving her are a daughter, Jill Richardson of Ashland City; a son, Jim Richardson (Christine LaMar) of Erie, CO; a brother, Larry (Charlotte) Pratt of Springfield; and grandchildren, Lawson Richardson and Lauren Richardson.

Janet “Jan” Kay FitzPatrick, age 60 of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at Tennova Healthcare.
Funeral services will be conducted at Calvary Bible Church in Joelton, Tennessee at 1:00PM on Wednesday, December 20th with Dr. David Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00PM at Riverview Cemetery in Clarksville with her sons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 4:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Wednesday from 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.
Mrs. FitzPatrick was born on October 20, 1963 in Oakville, Ontario, Canada to the late Eric & Dorris Jackman Snair. Her most important job was staying home to take care of her children. She loved to work puzzles and the Christmas holidays. Jan was a member of Calvary Bible Church.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kevin FitzPatrick; sons, Joshua (Cassie) FitzPatrick, Joshua, Jacob, Jordan, and James FitzPatrick; daughters, Jessica, Jill, and Jiara FitzPatrick; brothers, Rob (Iona) Snair and Brian (Morna) Snair; sisters, Heather (Ron) Anderson and Brenda (Mike) Hitchcox; and granddaughter, Aaliyah Grace FitzPatrick.

Edwin A. Anthony Jr., age 79, of Adams, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Monday, December 18th, in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Isaac Bourne and Bro. Billy Vogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery with John Paul Anthony Jr., Evan Anderson, Austin Anderson, Jason Baggett, Mark Bourne, and Erol Rockey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Winters, Mike Callis, Bob Arms Sr., and Bill Holt.
The family will receive friends from 10am until time of the service at 2pm Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Anthony was born November 18, 1944 in Robertson County to the late Edwin A. and Opal Wetton Anthony Sr. He was a farmer all of his life and a member of the Adams Fisherman’s Club, and Adams United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tasha Morris.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Anita Anthony; daughters, Connie Lynn (Mike) Hanson, Patricia Leann (Steve) Tanner, and Elizabeth Sue Anthony; stepsons, Bobby Morris, James David Morris, and Danny Morris; stepdaughter, Brenda (Mark) Miller; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy (Gloria) Anthony, and John Paul (Susan) Anthony; and sisters, Patsy Ann Morris, and Elizabeth Jean Lawrence.

Ni’Davion Covington was born on September 27th,2006 to Naia Wingfild and David Covington. On the day he was released from the hospital he went home with Lashunda And Louis Taylor Jr. who raised him the past 17 years.
Ni’Davion attended public school at White House High School as a senior due to graduate in May of 2024.
He loved drawings, Wednesday Adams, Sonic the Hedgehog, Spider-Man and anything pertaining to his school.
He is survived by his parents Lashunda and Louis Taylor Jr./Naia Wingfild and David Covington. Grandparents Barbara Marthal, Oddie(Shirley) Wingfild, Brenda Lake and Michael(Maria) Garner. A variety of sisters, brothers, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ni’Davion was loved dearly by many and his genuine innocent soul will be missed.

Connie Lynn Morris born April 27th, 1964, graduate of East Robertson High School went peacefully to be with our Lord December 12th, 2023.

Sister Sharon (Shane) Proctor, sister Vicki (Tommy) Durham, brother Michael (Beth) Morris (who she helped get through the impossible) 2 nieces Hollie (Demario) Jessica , 2 nephews Matthew (Natasha) Christopher (Amber), 6 great nieces and 3 great nephews and a great, great niece, all of whom she loved with her whole heart.
Connie loved spending time with family, friends, and coworkers, watching UT football, GO VOLS! and traveling. She was an organ and tissue doner which was another act of kindness that she was so proud to share, she was always the first to lend a hand or whatever was needed to make someone else’s life fuller and will be missed by so many.

Obituary for Barbara-Anne Brewer
Celebrating the life of Barbara Anne Brewer, of Springfield, Tennessee who passed away in her sleep on December 12, 2023. She was the daughter of Roy and Bernadette Easter and was born on January 7, 1946.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Thomas R. Brewer. Barbara is survived by her children from a previous marriage: Kathryn Munro and Elizabeth Mason. Later in life she and Tom adopted Brittany Brewer Johnson (Ricko). Tom’s daughter, Vicky Grantham also survives her.
She is survived by 11 grandchildren, Jenny and spouse Scott Elwood, Troy and spouse Kathleen Grantham, Brian and spouse Ashley Munro, John Munro and finance Kristie Hite, Shawanda Mason, Aniya Brewer, J’Myrion Johnson, Braidyn Abbott, Harmonie Kinnard, Jerricko Johnson, Jr, Ja’Ceyon Johnson. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren Trevor McAlpine, Kevin Grantham, Kennedy Munro, Raegan Munro, Lyndon Munro (expected January 2024), Kaliyah Lanier, Amaria Sanders, Jordynn Guthrie, Ameena Mason, Kairo

In addition, Barbara is survived by her brothers, Brian (Carole) and Roy Easter (Linda), as well as her sisters: Grace McGilton (Randy) and Berti-Jo Leymeister (Bruce). She was predeceased by her siblings: Michael Easter, Bernadette (Bernie) Lewis, Virginia (Ginny) Easter, and Kathleen Easter-Knott.
Barbara worked for the Department of Defense Civil Service starting out as a secretary at the Washington Navy Yard and worked her way up to contracting specialist for the Navy, Air Force, and Army in the Washington DC area. In her spare time, she loved to go camping, playing cards and games, crocheting, gardening and dancing. She was very active in many surrounding churches in the Springfield and White House areas; most recently serving as Secretary at Christ Worship Center in White House. Needless to say, she was very well loved by family and friends from all over and loved to actively live life to the fullest, thanking our Lord for each and every day.
Barbara is being cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date at Christ Worship Center in White House, TN. She will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery next to her late husband and love of her life Thomas Brewer (date to be determined).

John Robert Faulkner, age 85 of Greenbrier passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at his home. He was born October 10, 1938 in Murfreesboro, TN to Clyde and Ethel Stacey Faulkner. He worked as an accountant for Keith Simmons, Inc. until his retirement. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, golfing, watching all kinds of sports on television and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Faulkner; sister, Jane Lee. Obituary for Clifton Eugene “Chip” Corlew Jr
Clifton Eugene Corlew, Jr. “Chip”, age 67 of Lebanon, TN passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Vanderbilt Wilson County. He was born July 31, 1956 in Nashville, TN to Clifton Eugene Corlew, Sr. & Helen Juanita Smithson Corlew. He worked as Chief of Maintenance for the Hermitage Hotel. Chip was a gifted artist. His beautiful paintings and drawings are so detailed. He also was a talented musician and songwriter. He enjoyed playing guitar and doing wood crafting.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Eugene Corlew, Sr. & Helen Juanita Smithson Corlew Pickel; brother, Adam Shayne Corlew; brother-in-law, Ryan Betham. Mr. Farrell was born December 9, 1957 in Ramsey, Minnesota to the late Edward and Jeanne Garske Farrell. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and the Owner Operator of Adams Cabinet Shop in Adams, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Farrell was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Michelle Drennan Farrell.

Angela Marie Mantlow, 57, of Springfield passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, at her residence.

Ms. Mantlow was born on September 18, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan. She worked as a CNA and was a member at South Haven Baptist Church. Angela lived a simple life, but she enjoyed cooking and helping other people. She relished watching reality TV when she was home, especially Judge Judy. She loved her kids, but she loved her grandchildren a little bit more. Ms. Mantlow is preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Faye Mantlow Adams.

Peggy Jean Nixon Wair, 76, of Springfield, passed from this life on Wednesday December 6, 2023, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services wwere conducted Sunday December 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Barlow officiating. Interment followed in the Oakland Cemetery with Dave Binkley, Darren Shreve, Robert Lynn, Keith Harris, Phil Spicer, and Kenneth Hardaway serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Ms. Peggy was born September 13, 1947, in Nashville, to the late Sidney Herman and Addie Louise Hobdy Nixon. She was a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired cafeteria worker for the Robertson County Board of Education, having worked in different schools and was working at Jo Byrns at the time of her retirement. Ms. Peggy loved collecting dolls, reading, shopping, cooking and canning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Edna Ruth Whitaker, Reither Louise Hall, Mary Jeanette Carter, Albert David, Herman Moore, and Billy Byrns Nixon, and by her stepson: William Wair.
Ms. Peggy is survived by her husband of 47 years: Jerry Wair of Springfield, by her children: Darren Hallman of Springfield, Randy (Robin) Hallman of Smyrna, Janice (Darren) Shreve of Bell Buckle, Tammy (Dave) Binkley of Springfield, Morris (Arlene) Wair of Pleasant View, John (Susan) Wair of Clarksville, and Vickie (Kevin) Anderson of Louisville, KY, and by her 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Josephine Louise “Josie” Gray, age 67 of Cedar Hill, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at her home.
A time of visitation with the family was held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 12 noon until 4 PM at Robertson County Funeral Home. Following the visitation, in accordance with her wishes, her remains were cremated.
Josie was born July 21, 1956 in Springfield to the late Horace and Peggy Blick Walker. She was a retired cook with the Robertson County Schools and also served as a caretaker for the sick. She was a loving wife and mother and also loved flower gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two of her brothers, Tom Walker and Rodney Dale Walker.
Surviving her are her husband of 50 years, Rex Gray of Cedar Hill; sons, William Donald Gray and Erik Steven gray, both of Cedar Hill; brothers, James Walker of Glendale, AZ, Eddie Walker of Springfield, and Buford Walker of Johnsonville; and sisters, Virginia Gainous of Cedar Hill and Sarah Bush of Florida.

Janice Fay Hogue, age 77, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Residence of Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 o’clock am on Monday, December 11th, at Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Hollis and Bro. Randy Riggs officiating. Burial followed in Good Springs Cemetery with her grandsons, Robert Nicholson, and Wayne Hunter serving as pallbearers.
The family received friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Sunday, December 10th from 1-5:00PM and again on Monday at Good Springs FWB Church from 10:00AM until the hour of service at 11:00AM.
Mrs. Hogue was born on October 6, 1946, in Ashland City, Tennessee, to the late James & Mabel Morris Simmons. She was a retired beautician having worked for over 50 years. She enjoyed taking senior trips with her church group and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Gideons International – Cheatham County Camp and a longtime member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Hogue; and sister, Lynda Bowling.
She is survived by her son, Keith (Vera) Hogue; daughter, Kaye Keller; brothers, James (Jewel) Simmons, Kenneth (Linda) Simmons, and Glenn (Beverly) Simmons; grandchildren, Daniel (Maggie) Hogue, Josh (Karah) Hogue, Jacob (Mary Claire) Keller, and Zach (Michelle) Keller; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Hogue, Wyatt Hogue, Maddie Hogue, Hadley Keller, Vera Keller, and Jake Keller; and brother-in-law, Neil Bowling.

Jimmy Ray Brown, age 74 of Goodlettsvile passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield. He was born January 16, 1949 in Lafayette, GA to James Raymond & Barbara Wilson Brown. He worked as a supervisor for DET Distributing until his retirement and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He loved playing softball and golf and he enjoyed bowling.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Brenda Brown, Goodlettsville, TN; son, Timothy Ray (Brandy) Brown, Smyrna, TN; daughter, Kimberly Slagle, Greenbrier, TN; brothers, Larry (Carolyn) Brown, AL and Teddy (Twila) Brown, Westmoreland, TN; sister, Vonna Brown, GA; 3 grandchildren, Hailey, Anthony and Rijac; 1 great-grandchild, Mila.

Obituary for Larry Gregory
Larry Arnold Gregory, age 86 of Hendersonville, Tennessee, died Monday, December 4, 2023 at Elite Elderly Care after battling Parkinson’s disease for several years.
A Celebration of Life was held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Friday, December 15 from 1-3 pm. Family and friends were invited to come and celebrate his life and share memories with his family. A private graveside service was held.
Mr. Gregory was born on December 6, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Carney Lee and Lois Clark Gregory. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and had retired from Ford Glass Plant after 35 years of service. He was a Christian and loved to fellowship with his church family. His hobbies included woodworking and spending time with his family. His humor and quick wit were enjoyed by all of those around him. He had a love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Billy Gregory; sister, Donna Gregory Williams; nephews, Darby Felts and Philip G. Sanders.
Survivors include his children, Sherry (Phil) Reed, Lesa (Jeff) Steele and Tracie (Phil) Cook; grandchildren, Matthew (Taylor) Reed, Jacob Reed, Lauren Steele, Rachel Steele and Grayson Cook; great-grandchild Crosby Reed; brother, Bob (Dana) Gregory; sisters, Jean (Phil) Porch and Deanie Gregory.

Obituary for Rose Ann McCroy
Rose Ann McCroy, age 70, of Springfield, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at her home.
Funeral services were conducted at 1pm Thursday, December 7th in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 4-8pm Wednesday and again from 11am until time of the service at 1pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Ms. McCroy was born December 14, 1952 to the late Lewis and Dorothy Knight McCroy. She was in the banking business all her life. Ms. McCroy was a Teller with Volunteer State Bank, Investors Federal Bank, and Bank of Goodlettsville. She moved through the ranks and continued her career with F&M Bank where she held the positions of Assistant Loan Officer, Head Mortgage Loan Specialist, and finally as Vice-President of the bank.
In addition to her parents, Ms. McCroy was preceded in death by a grandchild, Raegan Pitt; brothers, Lewis McCroy Jr., and Mark McCroy; and sisters, Sandra Lassiter and Carolyn Choate.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Bethany) Pitt, Brandon (Amanda) Pitt, and Jonathan Pitt; daughter, Rebekah Rice; 11 grandchildren, Rylee, Ava, Kendyl, Luke, Ryan, Tyler, Hunter, Kelsey, Keshaun, Kenyon, and Amaya; and 3 great grandchildren, Kyrah, Kaicen, and Kamden.
