Obituary for Brigitte Johnson 

Brigitte Ann Johnson, age 77, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed from this life on December 3, 2024, at her home.

Her remains will be cremated, and no services are scheduled. Her remains will be buried in Hopewell Cemetery next to her husband, Paul.

Brigitte was born July 3, 1947, in Amberg, Germany to the late Johann and Barbara Froller Schdder. Her husband Paul Johnson also preceded her in death. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Brigitte loved her family dearly often helping her son Timo clean houses which gave her much joy. She was a big shopper who enjoyed going to Kirkland’s and Old Time Pottery.

Obituary for Ann “Betty” Elizabeth King

Ann “Betty” Elizabeth Crawford King, age 86 of White House went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born May 21, 1938 in Goodlettsville, TN to Amos & Ann Catherine Crawford. She worked at Vanderbilt University until her retirement after 42 years of service and was a dedicated Vandy fan. She was a member of Calvary Chapel at Long Hollow and loved her church family very much. She loved studying God’s Word and spending time with her family more than anything else.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter King; and sister Barbara Crawford Jamieson. She is survived by her son, Gary (Pat) King, Nashville, TN; daughter, Penny (Ricky) Fitzgerald, Cottontown, TN; sister, Sandra Crawford, Hendersonville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Davis King, Erin (Tyler) Beaudoin, Sarah Fitzgerald, and Mary (Brad) Anderson; 4 great-grandchildren, TK, Stratton, and Cade Beaudoin, and Lucy Ann Anderson.

Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery with Davis King, Bob Jamieson, Mark Jamieson, Ed Jamieson, Jeff Hatcher, and Chris Madish serving as pallbearers. Visitation was Friday, December 6, 2024 4pm-7pm and Saturday, December 7, 2024 10am-12pm at the funeral home.

Frank Gray Everett, 89, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Born July 30, 1935, in Nashville, he was the son of the late Holland Womack Everett and Gertie Lou Smith Everett. A dedicated and loving father, Frank embodied the essence of family values and was committed to ensuring that his loved ones always had what they needed. Known for his generous spirit, he touched the lives of many with his unwavering support and kind heart.

Frank served his country proudly in the United States Army, a testament to his strong sense of duty and patriotism. After his military service, he became known as a hard worker, applying his hands-on skills to a variety of trades. His passion for cars was unparalleled; he had an innate ability to diagnose a car’s problem simply by listening. A devoted NASCAR fan and a self-proclaimed “Ford guy,” Frank’s enthusiasm for automobiles was only matched by his knack for being able to fix just about everything, except for a broken heart. He was an active member of Luton’s United Methodist Church and helped with repairs and upkeep the church needed over the years.

In addition to his love for cars, Frank cultivated a beautiful garden, showcasing his nurturing side and appreciation for nature’s beauty. He was a man who found joy in simple pleasures and took pride in his work and home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Geneva Bloodworth, Eldridge Everett, Betty Jean Gibbs, and Jerry Everett. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Peggy C. Everett.

Frank is survived by his cherished children, Cynthia E. Walter, Daniel Gray Everett, Angela K. Everett, and Thomas Randall (Doris) Everett. He also leaves behind his brother, Michael Everett, and a treasured legacy of grandchildren: Amy (Daven), Tina (Dean), Katie, April, and Rachael; great-grandchildren, including Kirsten, Dagen, Daxten, Scarlett Eden, Nathaniel, Oliver, Cooper, Holland and one more on the way; as well as great-great-grandchildren, Evie and Ellie.

Obituary for Betty Lamb Hyder

Betty Sue Lamb Hyder, 87, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 under hospice care, surrounded by her beloved family. Born October 7, 1937 in Bedford County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Albert Burton Lamb and Addie Deschield Simrell Lamb. She was a remarkable woman whose spirit touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Betty dedicated 30 years to her career with GMAC demonstrating steadfast commitment and professionalism throughout her time there. Following her retirement, she embraced her passion for the holiday season by volunteering for many years with the Christmas Train at Rivergate Mall, a labor of love that brought joy to countless children and families.

Her home was a haven for gatherings, where she cherished spending time with family and friends. Betty’s sunroom, filled with warmth and laughter, was the perfect backdrop for evenings of playing cards and watching the beautiful hummingbirds flit about at her feeders. Renowned for her culinary skills, she is lovingly remembered for making the world’s best coconut cake, a treat that undoubtedly delighted all who were fortunate enough to indulge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joel Edward “Ed” Hyder, who she waited over three decades to meet; an infant child lost before birth who she is now able to hold; siblings Geneva Jones, Rachel Davis, and L.B. Lamb; and daughter-in-law Gwen Hyder.

A supportive and encouraging presence, Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and the reminder to uplift one another. She is survived by her four children: Tony (Laude) Hyder, Darell (Leti) Hyder, Lisa (Dan) Ferguson, and Dawn (George) Davis; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Her caring heart extended to her extended family, which includes nieces Brenda Gilbert, Patsy Gaither, Kathy Vargo, Leanne (David) Johnson, and Marian McGrath Ramsey. Betty also found companionship in her special friend, Curtis Wilkes, and the loyal presence of her cat, Mollie. She also leaves behind several great nieces and great nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM, also at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and visitors one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in floral squareGoodlettsville. Pallbearers will be Corey Ferguson, Joel Davis, Nick Davis, David Collier, Jeremy Irwin, and Camron Hyder.

Betty Lamb Hyder will be forever remembered for her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, serving as a beacon of love and support for family and friends in the days to come.

Nancy Lynn Warren Raymer, age 63, of Cedar Hill, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Mrs. Raymer’s remains will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 3pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with family and friends officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 12, 2024 at the funeral home from 1pm until the hour of service at 3pm.

Mrs. Raymer was born July 4, 1961 in Aiken, South Carolina to the late Ray Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Warren. She worked as a waitress. She was kind and loving and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Raymer is preceded in death by her step-mother, Patricia Ann Warren and her daughter, Monica Winfree. A devoted admirer of Patrick Swayze and a lover of the color red, Carrie cherished getting together with family and creating lasting memories. She valued every moment spent with her friends and her extended caregiver Mimi family, always finding joy in the shared laughter and bonds of love.

Carrie loved life’s simple joys, like going to the movies and singing karaoke at home. Her infectious energy made every gathering more lively and every moment more memorable.

Carrie had an incredible gift for connection. She could remember every birthday, every story, and every detail about the lives of those around her. She never let anyone feel forgotten, always there to remind them of the special moments they might have overlooked. Her intuition was unmatched, and her heartfelt conversations brought insight, comfort, and a sense of belonging to all who knew her.

Carrie leaves behind a family who loved her deeply: Aunt Linda Merritt; Uncle David Brewington; cousins David Brewington, Lee Brewington, Ashley Brewington, and Jason Gulley. She is also survived by numerous family members on her father’s side, including those with the last name Rivers. Her extended family and countless friends mourn her passing and will always hold her memory close to their hearts.

Ms. Boyte was born March 17, 1932, in Robertson County, to the late R. L. Boyte and the late Mary Davis Forester Boyte. She worked for the State of Tennessee and also as a cashier for the Lexington, Ky floral squareMeat Market.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Boyte was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Boyte; and sisters, Susie “Tootsie” Robertson, Mildred Bracey, Helen Coleman, and Mary Traughber.

Leonard Frank Schultz, age 76, of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at The Residence of Alive Hospice in Nashville.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 o’clock pm, Saturday, December 14th, at Mallory’s Church in Chapmansboro with Bro. Randy Hester and Tim Pentecost officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday beginning at 2:00PM until the hour of service at 3:00PM.

Mr. Schultz was born on February 20, 1948, in Elgin, Illinois. He was an over the road truck driver for over 47 years and drove to all 48 states. He enjoyed racing, rock climbing, camping, going to truck shows, and working on vehicles.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley & Joseph Holdren.

Obituary for Donald Clifton Tackett Sr.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Donald Clifton Tackett, Sr., a devoted husband, loving father, and a career United States Marine. On December 3, 2024, Donald passed peacefully in his home in Greenbrier, TN, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and strength.

Donald was born November 7, 1951, in Pikeville, KY, to the late William Goble Tackett, Sr., and Sena Potter Tackett.

Donald was married to Vickie Lynn Reynolds. Their 51 years of marriage were a testament to their enduring partnership and mutual devotion. As a father to Angela, Clifton, and Patricia, Donald was a constant source of guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. His wisdom and strength were the foundations his family could always rely on, and his pride in his children and grandchildren was immeasurable.

MSgt Tackett proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps for 30 years. His unwavering commitment to the Corps and his brothers-in-arms was a reflection of his steadfast character and patriotism.

He is survived by a son, Donald Clifton (Tina) Tackett, Jr.; daughters, Angela (Thomas) Overstreet, and Patricia Laffredo; 5 grandchildren, Abigail Overstreet, Caleb Overstreet, John Overstreet, Audric Laffredo, and Blythe Lommer; brothers, Doug (Rhonda) Tackett, Chris Tackett, and Hiram (Sandra) Tackett; sisters, Mary (Steven) Cox, Sena (Greg) Skinner, and Sandra (Joel) Kroft; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Honey.

Christopher Lynn Stagner, age 60, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the Hendersonville Medical Center.

Mr. Stagner was born May 1, 1964 in Springfield, to Donald Richard Flatt and Sue Ann Stagner. He was a Firefighter for the City of Springfield for many years.

Mr. Stagner was preceded in death by his father, Donald R. Flatt; grandparents, Joseph and Gertrude Stagner; and a niece, Candice Goodwin.

A graveside service was held Friday, December 6, 2024 at 3pm in the Springfield Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow with Brandon Ford, Dale Ford, Andy Ford, Chris Ford, Melissa Ridiner, Lana Covington, Jennifer Carroll, David Walker, and Sam Walker serving as pallbearers.

Visitation was held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 1pm – 2:30pm.

Mrs. Ford was born June 18, 1934 in Robertson County to the late Charles Samuel and Alice Hardin McIntosh. She worked as a seamstress at Nasco and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Ford is preceded in death by her husband, Raybon Hershel Ford, Sr., brothers, Charles McIntosh, James McIntosh and Don McIntosh, sisters, Elizabeth Carney, Ruth Whitehead and Mary Felts, and her sons, Roger Dale Ford and Charles Richard Ford.

Cathy Jean Leibfritz, age 63, of Pleasant View, Tennessee died Monday, December 2, 2024, at her home.

A private family graveside service was held in Blue Springs Cemetery with Dan Weakley officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Weakley, Logan Weakley, David Butts, Jarrod Butts, Wesley Mayo, and Nathan Biggs.

There was no visitation prior to the private graveside service.

Cathy was born on August 15, 1961, in Franklin, Kentucky, to the late Joseph Ray & Nellie Wilmertine Mayo Butts. She retired after 36 years of service as a Dock Coordinator with the United States Postal Service. She enjoyed the beach and playing slot machines.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved watching the hummingbirds, flower gardening and taking trips to California. She attended Temple Baptist Church.
