Brian Dean Morwood
January 24, 1977 — January 27, 2025
Goodlettsville

Brian Dean Morwood, a devoted husband, father, son and brother passed away on January 27, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter and unforgettable memories.

Born on January 24, 1977, in Merced, CA, to William Robert Morwood and Rita Jean Alison, Brian’s early years were shaped by adventure and change, thanks to his father’s service in the U. S. Air Force. Moving from place to place, he learned to adapt, make friends quickly, and find joy in the little things. As a young man, he put down roots in Tennessee, where he built a life filled with love, hard work, and the people who meant the most to him.

Brian had an incredible work ethic and spent much of his career as a freight driver before transitioning to a U. S. Postal Service contractor, a job he took on with encouragement from his sister. Through company buyouts and changes, he remained steady and committed, eventually becoming the first Dock Manager for EVO Transportation at the Nashville hub. He wasn’t just a leader at work—he was a mentor, a friend, and someone people could always count on.

But Brian was so much more than his job. He was the guy who could make anyone laugh with his sharp wit and perfect timing. His love of music was legendary—his playlists jumped from Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley to the Beastie Boys and even Insane Clown Posse without missing a beat. He could talk for hours about horror movies, dissecting every twist and scare. And he was always up for a late-night gaming session, diving into MMORPGs and first-person shooters with enthusiasm, always committed to creating the perfect character build.

His kindness wasn’t just something he showed to people—it was part of who he was, extending to every creature that crossed his path. Animals had a special place in Brian’s heart. Whether it was a stray in need of a home or a pet that became family, he took in and cared for countless dogs, cats and even chickens over the years. Sadly, he never could convince his wife to get a ferret.

More than anything, Brian loved his family. He was a devoted husband to Susan, and a proud father to Kieran, Malorie, Connor, and Trevor. He carried hisfloral square parents, Rita (married to Lee) and William, and his grandmother, Joan Gore, in his heart always. He shared unbreakable bonds with his siblings, Bill (Cassandra), Bambi (Billy), Breena (Josh), Sonia (Donald), Jarvis, and Bucky (iykyk). His extended family and friends meant the world to him, and he never hesitated to show it.

Brian was the kind of person who left an impression—someone who made life richer, funnier, and more meaningful just by being in it. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love of those who were lucky enough to know him.

May his legacy remind us all to be kind and embrace life fully

Funeral services for Mr. Morwood will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 127 N. Main St., Goodlettsville, TN 37072, on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025. David Jackson Bowden
September 11, 1955 — January 27, 2025
Goodlettsville

David Jackson Bowden, lovingly known to his grandchildren as “D-Daddy,” age 69, of Goodlettsville, TN, passed away in the comfort of his home on January 27th, 2025. He was born in Chapel Hill, NC, to Harold Carlton Bowden II and Norma Faye McMullan. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Bowden. He is survived by his mother, Norma McMullan and his step-father, Phil, and step-mother Martha Bowden. He is survived by his siblings Carl Bowden, Keith Bowden and his husband, Bob, Mary Hester, Ann Sanders and her husband Rhett, and half-sister, Olivia Swallows. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon Bowden. Their children, Brandon Bowden, Wesley Bowden and his wife Amy, and Maria Sofer and her husband Michael. David is also survived by his grandchildren, Ally, Ethan, Anna, Leah, Logan, and Luke.

For three years, David faithfully served his country as an army medic and game warden at Fort Campbell. The army would recognize his courage that he would carry his whole life. During his service he was awarded the Kentucky Colonel Honor. In 1973, he married his wife Sharon, whom he had met in grade school. His children remark him with great pride – he was a man with an eccentric personality, had no fear, and surely had to carry nine lives after his several dangerous ventures.

Throughout his life, David picked up a variety of hobbies, all of which ensured he stayed busy. He was known as a man who could do anything he set his mind to. In his younger years, on his Harley-Davidson, he travelled across the country and back. His love for sawmilling and woodworking would span him across a house, several pieces of furniture, and a handful of wooden figures. David often spent his time out hunting when he wasn’t in the shop. Another thing to keep him busy was karate, which he had a 4th degree black belt in. Later on, his love of history became a way for him to connect to his local community. He spent much of his time advocating for the preservation and restoration of Shackle Island. Known for loving his town, and his sharp memory, he worked at UPS for 40 years. His talents were once more recognized, for when he retired, he was awarded a Circle of Honor.

Those who knew David, knew he feared nothing, even death. As his age progressed, he still found ways to keep busy, as he had always emphasized to his children the importance of hard work. There is much to remember of him, and much more to mourn.

floral squareAt this time, the family requests that family and close friends meet for a visitation at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN 37075 on February 2nd, 2025 at 2:00p.m. Funeral services will be held the same location starting at 3:00p.m., followed by a burial within the cemetery.
