James W. Reed
December 6, 1949 — January 13, 2025
Springfield
James W. Reed, known affectionately as Jim, passed away on January 13, 2025, in Springfield, Tennessee. Born on December 6, 1949, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Jim led a life characterized by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to service.
Jim enjoyed a successful career in Plant Operation Management, contributing his expertise to several prominent companies including America Appliance Products, Delight Products, Ozburn Hessey, and Whirlpool. After retiring, Jim devoted the last decade of his life to Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, where he took on the role of Funeral Home Ambassador. His presence and support during numerous funerals earned him many friendships, particularly with the staff at the Robertson County Health Department, the local bank, and Conn at The Cleaners in Springfield.
As a proud U.S. Marine, Jim retired as an E-5 Sergeant, earning several commendations for his service, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm, and the Rifle Marksmanship Badge. A fellow Marine once described him as “One fine Marine,” a testament to both his character and his service.
Educated at Trevecca Nazarene College, Jim graduated with pride and became a lifelong member of his church community. He was a longstanding member of Hillview Baptist Church before later moving to North Springfield Baptist Church. His dedication to his faith was evident in the way he shared the Gospel and how he volunteered his time to serve his church families.
Jim’s warm personality was marked by his cheerful disposition, quick wit, and a kind heart. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need, often spreading joy through small acts of kindness, such as handing out peppermints to those he encountered. His love for gospel music brought him great joy, often taking him to gospel singings where he could engage with others in uplifting song. Beyond his church activities, Jim had a passion for visiting residents at the nursing home and enjoyed quiet moments playing solitaire and watching old westerns on television.
Jim is survived by his beloved daughters, Marsha Reed and Sarah Reed, his brother Gary (Phylis) Reed, and his stepdaughters, Stacy Yandles and Susan (Billy) Tallant and their children. He also leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through those who knew him well.
He was predeceased by his parents, James I. and Delores Jane Reed; his son, David Reed; and his brother, Larry Reed, along with sister-in-law Beverly Hohman.
A viewing will be held on January 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center, followed by a visitation on January 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for the same day, starting at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow at 3:00 PM.
Jim’s life was a beacon of hope and caring for many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Obituary for Beatrice Ann Heatherly RESCHEDULED
Due to the chances of inclement weather, the service for Beatrice Ann Heatherly has been rescheduled. It will now take place on Friday, January 17th, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, located at 103 Golf Club Lane, Springfield, TN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, followed by the Funeral Mass. The family appreciates everyone’s understanding and looks forward to seeing attendees on Friday.
Beatrice Ann Heatherly, age 80, of Springfield, TN passed away on December 28th, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Heatherly was born on June 11th, 1944 in Drake, ND to the late Stephen and Veronica Volk.
The family will receive friends RESCHEDULED TO –> Friday, January 17 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM followed by a funeral mass at 12 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church in Springfield.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Richard Volk, her sisters Angie Blonigan, Joyce Keys, Patricia Aber, and Veronica Guynup, and her sons-in-law, David Kelly and Van Perdue.
Mrs. Heatherly is survived by her husband of 52 years, Wayne Heatherly; her children: Brenda (Terry) Kelch, Belinda Kelly, Brigdet Perdue, and Chucky (Glenda) Norris; her grandchildren: Brandon (Jana) Payne, Ann Marie Legate, Matthew Guinn, Charlsie (Shawn) Scott, Dakota (Amanda) Norris, Mckenzie (Cody) Guinn, Jesika (Rachel) Shriver-Kelch, and Clinton (Sarah) Kelch; her great grandchildren: Belle, Luke, Hayden, Lily, Eli, Hadley, Oliver, Maverick, Lucas, Shy, Kaydence, Wayne, Lincoln, and Annalee; and her brothers: Stephen Volk, Doug Volk, and Virgil Volk; and siblings in law: Puggy (John) Anderson, Don Heatherly, and Vicky (Don) Wallace.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. She instilled family first in all those she loved.

Suzanne Asay Obituary
December 27, 1958 ~ January 6, 2025 (age 66)
Rebecca Suzanne Wix Asay, 66, of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday, January 6, 2025, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 13th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Gagliano officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Christian Asay, Aaron Asay, Chris Scott, Josh Latimer, Tom Latimer, Jeff Wix, and Jeff Downey serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Suzanne was born December 27, 1958, in Springfield. She worked in factory assembly for many years and was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. Suzanne loved dancing and loved animals, especially her cats. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father: Johnny D. Wix, by her brother: Steve Wix, and by her sister: Robin Wix Smith.
Suzanne is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Eric and Jessica Asay, Brian and Kim Asay all of Springfield, by her mother: Ruby Baxter Wix of Springfield, by her brothers and sister-in-law: James Wix of Springfield, Jeff and Deborah Wix of White House, by her sisters and brother-in-law: Betty Scott of Springfield, Tammy and David Latimer of Portland, and by her grandchildren that she loved so much: Christian, Aaron, Gracey, Michael, Nathaniel, and Daniel.

Dr. Garry Brewer Obituary
December 9, 1935 ~ January 2, 2025 (age 89)
Dr. Garry Davis Brewer, age 89 of Springfield, died Thursday, January 2, 2025, at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. David Evans and Tim Harris officiating. Entombment will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Alan Holman, Kenneth Holman, Tom Biggar, Mel Carr, and Tony Cobb serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Springfield Rotary Club and the members of the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class at Springfield Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Dr. Brewer was born on December 9, 1935, to the late Gilbert Roscoe and Lura Dempsey Brewer. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee Dental School in 1958. Upon graduating dental school, he joined the United States Army as a dentist. After serving his country, he opened Garry Brewer DDS Family Dentistry. Dr. Brewer was a 50-year member of Springfield Baptist Church. He was also a 50-year member of the Springfield Rotary Club. He was a kind and gentle man who loved to sing in the choir, and was known to tell dad jokes to all that would listen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Brewer.
Dr. Brewer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Jo Holman Brewer of Springfield, his sons and daughters-in-law David and Leta Brewer of Springfield, Kevin and Melanie Brewer of Hermitage, and granddaughters, Cayce Ann Brewer, Dr. Lauren Ashley Brewer, and Christy Nicole Brewer.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the caregivers at Morningside and NHC of Springfield.

Dianne Cofer Obituary

Dianne Roe Cofer, age 88, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed from this life on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home. Her body will be cremated, and no services are scheduled at this time.
Dianne was born May 17, 1936, in Springfield to the late Vernon Charles and Reba Holman Roe. Her husband, Lawrence Cofer, and three sisters and one brother also preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of Springfield Baptist Church. Dianne, along with her husband, owned Tennessee Light and Appliance in Springfield. Her true calling was being a homemaker, and any friends who her son Charles or her grandchildren brought home she treated as her own with hospitality and love.
Dianne is survived by her son, Charles Howard Cofer of Springfield; grandchildren, Robert Brown II of Nashville, TN, Camille Cofer of Nashville, and John Ross Cofer of Springfield; and special friends, Susan Owens and Peggy Mayes.

Larry Perry Obituary
November 3, 1948 ~ January 6, 2025 (age 76)
Larry David Perry, 76, of Cedar Hill, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at a future date.
Larry was born November 3, 1948, in Fredonia, TN, to the late Raybon and Velma Stroud Perry. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School Class of 1966, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during Vietnam, was a retired feeder driver with UPS, and was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. Larry enjoyed woodworking, going to tractor pulls, Blue Grass and Southern Gospel music, and spending time with his family. He proudly enjoyed his time serving as Assistant Chief with the Henrietta Volunteer Fire Department.
Larry is survived by his wife, Janie Hester Perry of Cedar Hill; his daughters and sons-in-law, Pam Perry and Mark Stone of Springfield, Becky Perry and Josh Lambert of Clarksville; his grandchildren, Alli Harris, Leslie Harris, Alex Lambert, and Eli Lambert; his brother, Willard Perry of Clarksville; his sisters, Reba (Paul) Pecori of White House, Brenda Pisano of Clarksville, and Donna Visger of Mississippi; and by many nieces and nephews.

Margie Hall Obituary

Margaret Helen “Margie” Hall, 81, of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday, January 6, 2025, at American House Assisted Living in Hendersonville. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 17th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Woodard and Reverend Bob Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery with Hunter Hall, Cody Hall, Spencer Hall, Weston Hall, Dave Stambaugh, and John Hall serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the workers and volunteers with Open Door Pregnancy Center and the Robertson County Disaster Relief Team. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home and on Friday, January 17th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Margie was born April 12, 1943, in Rome, IN, to the late John Parris and Lula Florence Dutschke Roberts. She was a graduate of the Class of 1961 at Durrett High School in Louisville, KY. Margie owned and operated Margie’s Beauty Salon for many years, and she also worked in marketing research. She was a former member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a current member of Springfield Baptist Church. Margie loved to play softball and bowl and participated in various leagues. She was a passionate supporter and volunteer with the Open Door Pregnancy Center, the Robertson County Disaster Relief Team, and Samaritan’s Purse. Both Margie and her husband Jim were participants in Haiti and Dominican Mission trips. Above all, Margie loved her Lord, her family, her church, and her friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: August, Dorothy, Rita, Patty, and Barbara.
Margie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jim Hall of Springfield; her sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Shelly Hall of Greenbrier, Patrick and Ellen Hall of Brandenburg, KY; her grandchildren that she loved so much, Hunter (Rachel) Hall, Cody Hall, Spencer (Laura) Hall, Lauren Hall, Weston Hall, and Cara Layne Hall; and her devoted caregivers, Katy Webster, Ashley Benson, Teonnia Sikoro, and Louise Head.

James West Obituary

James Richard West, age 53, of Greenbrier, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Centennial Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with family members speaking. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. West was born October 16, 1971, in Nashville. He was a tool maker at Electrolux for over 20 years. He was an awesome dad and grandfather, attending all of their sporting events, and was a great best friend to those close to him. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed building Legos and Star Wars. He was preceded in death by his father, Kelly West.
Surviving him are his daughters, Ashlee West of Knoxville, Sarah Roach of Greenbrier, and Rachel West of Greenbrier; mother, Judy West of Belle Valley, OH; granddaughter, Lilly Roach of Greenbrier; and sisters, Kathy (John) Hooper of Knoxville and Monica Summers of McMinnville.

Bobby Ray Wix, age 84, of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at his home. Mr. Bobby was born July 7, 1940, in Springfield to the late Horace and Fannie Haley Wix. He was a member of Greenwood Freewill Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter and farmer. He enjoyed sports, especially University of Tennessee football and basketball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching westerns on TV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Diane Spivey Wix; brother, Rudolph Wix; and sisters, Carolyn Hart and Linda Keefer.
Surviving him are his sons and daughters-in-law, Tim Wix of Dover, Jeff and Juanita Wix of Cross Plains, and Bobby and Nikki Wix II of Cross Plains; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jeff Jernigan of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, with 1 on the way.

Betty Thompson Ralph
June 20, 1926 — January 5, 2025
Betty Ruth Thompson Ralph, 98, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. She was born in Nashville on June 20, 1926. She was the only daughter of Rayford and Francis Thompson, with five brothers.
In addition to her parents, Betty Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Luther David Ralph Jr.; son, Michael R. Ralph; daughter-in-law, Betty Kamifugi; brothers, James R. (Dick), Rayford O., and C. Ross Thompson; and loving brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Betty Ruth is survived by her son, Luther David Ralph III; daughter, Sharon D. Ralph; grandson, Raylin A. Ralph; brothers, Chester A. (June) and Larry E. Thompson; and loving brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Betty Ruth was a graduate of Hendersonville High School and was the dietitian for Peabody Demonstration School, which later became University School of Nashville. She attended First Baptist Church in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
Her favorite activities included working outdoors in her flower gardens, baking her much-prized chocolate cakes, hiking in the Smokies with many family members, camping, and traveling throughout the contiguous 48 states.
Visitation were held in the sanctuary of Old Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the service from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m.

Lillian Marie Brinkley
July 20, 1937 — January 5, 2025
Lillian Marie Brinkley, affectionately known as Lillie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Lebanon, Tennessee, at the age of 87. Born on July 20, 1937, in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, she was the beloved daughter of the late Odie Johnson and Jannie Reed Johnson.
Lillie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Benny Brinkley; her children, Glenda Lynette Brinkley and Timothy Dee Brinkley; her sister, Lucy Davenport; and her brothers, Johnny Duncan, Odie Johnson Jr., Frankie Johnson, and Jimmie Johnson.
Lillie’s family fondly remembers her insistence on being called “Lillie” by each of her grandchildren, as she famously declared, even as the years went by, that she was “too young to be called grandmother.” Her great-grandchildren affectionately adapted this tradition and called her “Grillie,” a nickname that she heartily adopted. Lillie took great pride in her family and was known for her nurturing spirit, unwavering love, and ability to crack a joke at a moment’s notice. She was a devoted grandmother to her cherished grandchildren: Lauren Brinkley-Rubinstein (Eric), Matthew Brinkley (Charlotte), and Kattie Brinkley-Rice (Jordan), and extended this love to her daughter-in-law, Patty Brinkley. Her great-grandchildren, those who lovingly knew her as Grillie—Xavier, Jaxon, and Connor—brought her endless joy, filling her days with laughter and light. In addition, Lillie’s special bond with her sister, Jean Horner, was a testament to her enduring love and loyalty.
Family and friends are invited to honor Lillian’s life during a visitation on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jerry Ladd, at the same location. This gathering will be a time to share stories, celebrate her enduring legacy, and remember the remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
Lillie will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Municipal Cemetery in White House, Tennessee. Serving as pallbearers are Matt Brinkley, Jaxon Rice, Xavier Rubinstein, Craig Johnson, Dee Johnson, and Mark Reid.
Lillian Marie Brinkley leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that will forever be cherished by all who knew her.

Dora Dee Hammock
March 18, 1949 — January 8, 2025
Dora Dee Hammock, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 75 in Yorktown, Virginia. Born March 18, 1949, Dora was the daughter of the late Jerry Bain and Ethel Denson Bain.
Dora was an individual with a zest for life. She cherished moments spent dancing, and her passion for the outdoors was evident in the countless fishing trips and camping adventures she shared with her family. Above all else, her dedication to raising her children was paramount, instilling in them values of love, kindness, and perseverance.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James L. Hammock, Sr., and her daughter Michelle Deskins.
She leaves behind her three sons, Jerry Hammock, James L. (Charlotte) Hammock, Jr., and Tommy E. (Heather) Hammock. Dora’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kaleigh, Connor, Kiefer, Nathan, Chris, and Megan (Zackary) Rivera. As a great-grandmother, she found joy in Freyja and Quinn Boebert, who were undoubtedly cherished by her.
The visitation for Dora will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service starting at 9:00 a.m. at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
Dora Dee Hammock will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, but her spirit will live on in the cherished memories they hold dear.

John Albert Rosburg
May 28, 1946 – January 8, 2025
John Albert Rosburg, age 78, of Greenbrier, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Greenbrier. The date and time of service will be announced later.
John was born in Grinnell, IA, on May 25, 1946, to the late Albert Henry Paul and Virginia LaRiene Anthony Rosburg. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Sue Allen Rosburg.
He attended Redeemer Church in Goodlettsville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was also a self-employed painting contractor.
John enjoyed gardening on his farm in Greenbrier, growing a variety of vegetables and fruits.
He is survived by his children: Christopher Juel of Sacramento, CA; Aaron David (Hang) Rosburg of Nashville; Jonathon Paul Rosburg of Greenbrier; Amber (Kevin) Butts of Greenbrier; and his sisters: Betty Heffley of OK and Dottie Brown of WA.

David “Paul” Robertson SR.
June 14, 1927 – January 8, 2025
David “Paul” Robertson Sr., age 97, of Goodlettsville, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier, with Bro. James Jett and family members officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will take place in Springhill Cemetery in Goodlettsville, with great-grandsons serving as pallbearers and grandchildren serving as honorary pallbearers.
Paul was born in Nashville, TN, to the late Eugene Fish and Sinie Inez Smith Robertson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lee Trevathan Robertson, and his siblings and their spouses.
He is survived by his children: “David” Paul (Angie) Robertson Jr. of Goodlettsville, Trevis Lee (Dolores) Robertson of Greenbrier, Bonnie Beth Jenkins of Gallatin; grandchildren: Eric Robertson, Ashley Robertson, Troy Robertson, Shannon (Danny) Myers, Christopher Jenkins, Rachael Jenkins; great-grandchildren: Toby Robertson, Tate Robertson, Reef Myers, Coen Myers, Haven Myers, Bair Myers, Kyyng Myers; and one great-great-grandchild, Jameson Robertson.
He was a graduate of Central High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served during the WWII era. He attended Cumberland University, where he received a bachelor’s degree, and continued to study at the University of Texas at Austin. He was a math teacher at Hume Fogg and was a tutor to many as well. He also had a PBS math show in the 1960s. He worked for the State of TN, where he was the director of curriculum and instruction for area vocational schools. Paul later became a rural mail carrier in Robertson County and started gardening, which he loved. He enjoyed growing food for his family and even became a beekeeper. Paul dearly loved his family, and it made him happy to take care of them.

Ronnie Watts
August 13, 1940 – January 8, 2025
William Ronald Watts, “Ronnie,” age 84, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Randy Hester officiating.
Burial will follow in Mallory’s Cemetery in Chapmansboro with Glenn Watts, Derek Dwyer, Dustin Walker, Jacob Dwyer, Jason Huff, Ryan Huff, and Mike Huff serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Walker, Eric Dwyer, Spanky Spicer, Chris Dutton, Brian Felts, Scotty Cook, and Jeremy Muzzall.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 1:00 PM.
Mr. Watts was born on August 13, 1940, in Robertson County, Tennessee, to the late James M. and Martha Elizabeth Holt Watts. He was a retired truck driver from Swift Independent Packing. Ronnie loved watching UT Athletics, hunting, fishing, yard work, and working in his vegetable garden. He was a member of Mallory’s Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth and Danny Watts; and sons-in-law, Wayne Reeves and Bubba Douglas.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jackie Watts; son, Glenn Watts; daughters, Dawn Douglas, Angela (Mike) Huff, and Lisa Fleming; brother, Gary Watts; grandchildren: Derek (Niki) Dwyer, Dustin Walker, Jacob Dwyer, Jason (Brittany) Huff, and Ryan Huff; and great-grandchildren: Carson, Whitley, and Riggins Dwyer, Jaxten and Berkley Dwyer, and Aiden, Connor, and Nova Huff.

Morris Self
June 25, 1967 – January 5, 2025
Morris Lee Self, age 57, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away, surrounded by family, on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. David Royalty officiating.
Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville with Phillip Britton, Jr., Noah Britton, Jesse Gunn, Alan Noblitt, AJ Noblitt, and Jamie Bray serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, and again on Monday, January 13, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 PM.
Morris was born on June 25, 1967, in Pekin, Illinois, to Nancy Puckett Self and the late M L Self. For over 32 years, he owned and invented pallet-making machines through Bronco Pallet Systems Inc. In his spare time, he enjoyed music, painting, welding, and spending time with his family, often traveling together. He also had a passion for metal art sculptures, some of which can be viewed at Sweezy’s Pub in Pleasant View. Morris was a member of Joelton First Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eldon and Novell Puckett; paternal grandparents, Thomas Otho and Grace Self; and uncles, Wilbur Miller, Gill Sears, and Troy Puckett.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tina Self; brother, Phillip, Jr. (Candice) Britton; father and mother-in-law, Phil, Sr. (Barbara) Britton; niece, Hannah (Jesse) Gunn; great-nephews, Cameron Keen and Emerson Gunn; nephew, Noah Britton; aunts, Dana (Brian) Dunn, Winta Sears, Ova Miller, and Judy Puckett; and numerous cousins.

Velda Louise English
October 1, 1955 – January 5, 2025
Velda Louise English age 69, of White House, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at her home. She was born October 1, 1955, in Nashville, TN, to Willis and Virginia Guthrie Hart. Velda worked as a gas station attendant and as a private caregiver. She was known for her caring nature and was an avid cat lover.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary.
Velda is survived by her sons, Bobby Gannon of Gallatin, TN, and Jeremy Woods of Goodlettsville, TN; daughter, Susan (Erin McIntyre) Woods of Nashville, TN; and one grandchild, Rory.
There are no services or visitation planned.
