Obituary for Robert Carter
Robert J. Carter, 73, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday October 24, 2024, at the Henderson County Community Hospital in Lexington, TN.
His remains will be cremated, and no services are scheduled at this time.
Robert was born October 25, 1950, in Springfield, to the late John Henry and Sarah Hutchison Carter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired tow motor operator with Collins and Akman, and was of the Baptist faith. Robert enjoyed going to the YMCA in Springfield, and he enjoyed antique cars, especially Mustangs.
Robert is survived by his wife: Debora Sanders Carter of Springfield, by his daughters: Gina Carter (Travis Beitzel) of Springfield, Dawn (Robert) Fulton of Springfield, and Pam (Will) Lunn of Paris, TN, by his grandchildren: Jacob, April, Austin, Breanna, Christine, Alex, and Kailey, and by his great grandchildren: Jayce and Ryleigh.

Obituary for Amy Harden
Amy Marie Hall Harden, 47, of Springfield, passed from this life on Wednesday October 23, 2024, at her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 2, 2024, at 12:00 noon at the Barren Plains Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Saturday November 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Amy was born April 13, 1977. She worked as a substitute teacher at Jo Byrns High School and was a member of Barren Plains Baptist Church. Amy was an artist and enjoyed drawing and painting, she loved canning and cooking, she loved raising animals, especially her chickens, she was an excellent photographer and enjoyed taking pictures. Above all, Amy loved her family, her friends, and having a good time with those she cared about. Amy was preceded in death by her father: Joe Russell Hall.
Amy is survived by her husband: David Harden of Springfield, by her children: Neylee Marie Harden and Levi (Hailey Gainous) Harden both of Springfield, by her mother: Jan Fuqua Hall of Allensville, KY, by her sisters: Kelly R. (Troy) Neblett and Kara Dell (Elliott) Brannon both of Springfield, by her brother: Kirk (Patricia) Hall of Springfield, by her nieces: Kayla and Lynleigh, by her nephews: John Holman, John “Cookie”, Austin, and Hunter, by her honorary sons: Marley Moon and Jake Chennault, by her father-in-law: Robert “Red” Harden, by her mother-in-law: Judy Holman, and by her sister-in-law: Bethany (Jeremy) Taylor.

Obituary for Billy Joe Cole

Billy Joe Cole, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Westmoreland, Tennessee, at the age of 64. Born March 8, 1960, in Springfield, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Morris Dean Cole and Mary Frances Veteto Cole.
Billy’s professional journey was marked by his unwavering dedication and strong work ethic. He spent many years at Holley Performance Products, where his commitment was evident as he never missed a day of work. His colleagues and associates will remember him not only for his reliability but also for his quick wit and the infectious sense of humor that brightened the workplace.
Billy graduated from White House High School as a member of the graduating class of 1979.
Outside of work, Billy was a passionate NASCAR enthusiast, holding a particular admiration for the late, great Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He found joy in hopping into his car and going on drives, often relishing the freedom of the open road. His zest for life and respect for others were hallmarks of his character; he was a man who never met a stranger and always sought to uplift those around him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Cathy Darlene Cole and brother-in-law Michael Wooten.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Tammy Cole; his brother, Marty (Traci) Cole; and his nephews, Ryan (Natalie) Cole and Erik (Brooke) Cole. He is also survived by his niece, Chasity Nicole Haynie, as well as his brother-in-law, Jeffery Wooten, and mother-in-law, Barbara Wooten. Each of them will hold dear their cherished memories of Billy and the love he shared generously with his family.
The legacy of Billy Joe Cole, an overall good man, will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His kind heart, humor, and dedication to his loved ones will never be forgotten.

Obituary for Nellie Ruth Frazor

Nellie Ruth Frazor, beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on August 10, 1937, she filled the lives of those around her with warmth, kindness, and compassion.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P Frazor, who was the love of her life, as well as dear son, Robert Earl Frazor. She also mourned the loss of her father and stepmother, Cordell and Regina Stephens, her mother, Rose N. Fort, and her siblings: sisters Norma Wooley, Faye Cranfield, Joyce Cauthen, Dottie Stephens, Evelyn Faye Stephens, and brother Elvin Ray Stephens. Their memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
Leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion, Nellie is survived by her brothers, Jimmy (Dawn) Stephens and Doug Noville; and sister, Kathy Binkley. She was a devoted mother-in-law to Frances Frazor and a proud grandmother to Rebecca (Jason) Payton, Lela (Ben) Boggess, and Robert N. (Heather) Frazor. Her family was further blessed by six great-grandchildren: Noah Boggess, Katelyn Boggess, Ava Boggess, Philip Payton, Charity Payton, and Robert J. Frazor, who brought her immense joy in her later years.
A visitation was held on October 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by another visitation on October 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In celebration of her remarkable life, a service was held on the same day, October 23, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All services were held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services located at 127 N Main St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
Nellie Ruth Frazor will be deeply missed by all who had the honor to know her. Her spirit will live on through the cherished memories and the love she imparted to her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.

Obituary for Wilma Lee
Wilma Lee, age 93, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Sunday, October 27th in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Steve Pendley officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Alex Moss, Bruce Woliver, David Richards, Jason Baggett, Kenneth Spivey, and John Fowler serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11am until time of the service at 1pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lee was born February 9, 1931, in Kentucky, to the late John Bryant and the late Ella Clore Bryant. She worked in Sporting Goods Manufacturing most of her life, and was a member of Williams Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Sr.; sons, Walter Lee Jr., and Terry Dean Lee; 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Lee; son, Barry Lee; 6 grandchildren, Randy Lee, Charlie Lee, Amy Moss, Alex Moss, Bailey Bush, and Alicia Perry; and 4 great grandchildren, Isiah Lee, Jace Lee, Emma Moss, and Isla Moss.

Obituary for David Bruce Marlin
David Bruce Marlin, age 72 of White House passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born September 25, 1952 in Portland, TN to Ewell D. & Margaret Gregory Marlin. He started working in the trucking industry at the age of 18 for Trailmobile, Fleetco, later retiring as a general manager from TSR in 2018 with 48 years in the trucking industry. He attended White House Church of Christ. Mr. Marlin enjoyed fishing, boating, sitting on the back porch and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Edward Marlin. He is survived by his loving wife of 53years, Treasha Marlin; son, Wesley David “Wes” (Krista) Marlin, Cottontown, TN; daughter, Shana (Jay) Hendershot, White House, TN; sister, Linda (James) Hardin, Hendersonville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Piper Hendershot, Blake Marlin, Bailey Dodd, Jayli Hendershot and Analise Blackwell.
A memorial service is scheduled for Monday evening, October 28, 2024 at 6pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with David Swanger officiating. Inurnment will follow on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 3pm in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is planned for Monday, October 28, 2024 2pm-6pm at the funeral home.

Obituary for John Franklin Hayes
John Franklin Hayes, age 82, of Nashville, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the TriStar Skyline Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7pm Monday, October 28 at the Madison Church of Christ, 106 Gallatin Pike N., Madison, TN with Andy Connelly, Mark Hayes, Steven Hayes and James Hayes officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11am Tuesday, October 29, in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1150 Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until time of the service at 7pm Monday, at the church.
Mr. Hayes was born February 24, 1942, in Ironton, OH, to the late Frank Hayes and the late Gertrude Myers Hayes. He lived in Linnville (Willow Wood) in Lawrence County, OH for many years and graduated from Ironton High School in 1960, where he served as senior class president. He began preaching in 1961, at the age of 19. Mr. Hayes received his B.A. from Lipscomb University in 1964, and his M.A. from Middle Tennessee State University. He did additional graduate studies at the University of Chattanooga and Tennessee State University. Mr. Hayes was a part-time preacher and primarily preached in Ohio and Tennessee, with most of those years being at the Ironton Church of Christ in Ironton, OH, Old Union Church of Christ in Castalian Springs, TN, Nashville Road Church of Christ in Gallatin, TN, and Beech Grove Church of Christ in Columbia, TN. He taught thousands of high school students throughout his life, teaching 3 years at Rock Hill High School in Ironton, OH, and 50 years at Goodpasture Christian High School in Madison, TN. Mr. Hayes retired from teaching in 2017.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Hoover Hayes. They were married on October 7, 1967. She was the love of his life. They had celebrated 35 years of marriage at the time of her death in 2003.
He is survived by his sons, Mark (Meredith) Hayes, Steven Hayes, and James (Vera) Hayes; 5 grandchildren, Jordan (Chris) Burkepile, Caitlin Hayes, Maddie Gibbs, Chase Gibbs, and Will Gibbs; and 1 great grandchild, Ellisyn Burkepile.
Pallbearers include past and current Goodpasture staff: Bryan Ayer, Ben Dennis, Keith Edwards, Roger Hamlett, Daniel Knox, David Martin, Andy McWilliams, Dustin Patton, Lee Phillips, and Ronnie Sarver.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Pilkinton, Dr. Megan Settle, Dr. Kirk Barnes, Dr. Dale Pilkinton, Dr. Allen Bush, Dr. Keith Loven, the medical staff at Skyline Medical Center, and the staff at Maybelle Carter Senior Living for the compassionate care they provided throughout the years.

Mike was born on April 29, 1975, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a master roofer and “jack of all trades” who was known as “Coach Mike” to many young baseball players. He earned a black belt in Kung Fu and was a believer in Christ.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Lee Mangrum and his grandparents, Hobart & Barbara Davenport.
He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Huff; children, Austin Edwards (Huff), Elijah Huff (Rachel Traughber), Savannah (Justin) York, Isaiah Huff, and Levi (Morgan) Felts; mother, Deborah Davenport; brothers, Wayne & Randy Harris; sister Tammy (Anthony) King; grandchildren, Jackson, Willow, Wendy, Aidan, & Austin York; brothers by heart, Scooter Jenkins and Glenn Seabrooks, Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

King, Jason King, and Matthew Pisz serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers were Jordan Hendrix, Bobby Jarratt, Jimmy Jarratt, John Jarratt, and Tommy Jarratt.

Mrs. Nipper was born March 8, 1933 in Robertson County, to the late Curtis and Theresa Dickens Fehrman. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nipper was preceded in death by her sons, John Jay Stroud, and Gary Lee Nipper; brothers, Billy Fehrman, and Buddy Fehrman; and a sister, Helen Webster.
She is survived by daughters, Sheila Ann (Tommy) Smith, and Jennifer Beth Newcomb; grandson, Jimmy (Serene) Hendrix; great grandsons, Dylan Hendrix, Micah Hendrix, and Jordan Hendrix; brothers, Robert Fehrman, James Fehrman, and David Fehrman; and sisters, Maxine Rosenbergar, Frances Russell, and Carolyn Allen.

Obituary for Tommy Head
James Thomas “Tommy” Head, age 79 of Henrietta, passed away on October 19, 2024.
Tommy was born on June 4, 1945, in Robertson County, as the oldest of five children to Richard and Hazel Albright Head.
A graduate of Clarksville High School and a basketball standout, he received his associate degree from Cumberland College before graduating from Austin Peay State University with a BS in mathematics in 1967. He was inducted into the Austin Peay Hall of Fame in 1997. In 2001, APSU honored him by dedicating the Tommy Head Atrium as part of the Sundquist Science Complex.
Tommy was elected to represent District 68 in the Tennessee House of Representatives in 1986 and served for nine terms. While in the House, he served as chair of the House Finance, Ways and Means committee among other appointments.
After a short stint as a high school math teacher and basketball coach, he owned and operated a utility contracting business and farm. A lifelong member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, he devoted himself to his community and family. He was an avid golfer and loved supporting APSU basketball and the University of Tennessee basketball and football.
He married Deloris (Brown) Head in 1966, who preceded him in death in April 2021. He is also preceded in death by his parents Richard and Hazel Head, his brothers Kenneth and Charles Head, and his sister Pat Head Summitt. He is survived by his sons Derrick (Jennifer) and David (Traci), his grandson Connor, his sister Linda, and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Thursday, October 24, at 1:00 pm. with Richie Head, Austin Douglas, Brandon Douglas, Billy LeVan, Johnny Head, Keith Head, David Welch, and Dan Cooper serving as pallbearers. Visitation was at Austin Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Wednesday, October 23, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and again on Thursday from 12 noon until the hour of service at 1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery Fund (425 Mt. Carmel Rd, Clarksville, TN 37043) or the Pat Summitt Foundation (520 W. Summit Hill Drive, Ste. 1101, Knoxville, TN 37902).
