Allison WhitakerAllison Yvonne Whitaker, 55, of Springfield, died Monday February 12, 2018 at her home. Her remains were cremated and no services are scheduled at this time. Mrs. Whitaker was born February 23, 1962 in Fairmont, WV. She was a homemaker. She loved sewing, making jewelry, painting, and being with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her mother: Rebecca Urynowicz Reger, and by her siblings: Wendy Reger and Bob Reger. Obituary for Vuneta R. Krisle

Vuneta R. KrisleVuneta R. Krisle, age 90 of Springfield, died Friday, February 9, 2018 at NorthCrest Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Evans officiating. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery with James Style, Paul Thompson, Darnell Hester, Greg Hester, Joe Krisle, Jr., and Eddie McKnight serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Don Sloan and Donald Hart. The family received friends at the funeral home Monday from 4 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 9 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Krisle was born July 5, 1927 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Boss Lee and Elizabeth Ferguson Ridge. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and was retired from Southside Drugs where she was a bookkeeper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe R. Krisle, who died February 28, 2015.

floral squareShe is survived by her son, Dr. Joe Krisle and wife Janice of Collierville; daughter, Judye K. Hester and husband Darnell of Springfield; sisters, Betty Ridge of Monterey and Maxie Thompson of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Gregory K. Hester, Elizabeth K. Olson and husband Scott, and Tara K. Williams and husband Mark; and great grandchildren, James, Nicholas, and Joseph Olson and Luke and Ethan Williams.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to the Baptist Children’s Home. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.

Don HollingsworthDonald Gary “Don” Hollingsworth, age 63, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 4-8pm and again on Thursday from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born November 6, 1954 in Springfield to Mr. Glenn R. Hollingsworth of Springfield and the late Mrs. Marjorie Orman Hollingsworth. He was a farmer and member of Springfield Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother Mr. Hollingsworth is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Glenn Frey. In addition to his father Mr. Hollingsworth is survived by his wife, Glenda Frey Hollingsworth; son, Corbitt (Audrey) Hollingsworth of Knoxville; daughters, Suzann Hollingsworth and Mary Glenn (Marc) Hollingsworth-Fatton, floral squareboth of Nashville; mother-in-law, Sue Robertson Frey of Springfield; and brother, Ronnie (Cheri) Hollingsworth of Springfield.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hollingsworth’s honor to the charity of one’s choice. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother J.T. Honeycutt, Dr. Fred Baldwin and Tyler Estep officiating. An Eastern Star Service will close the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery with Burt Castleman, Jr., Trey Castleman, Bruce Head, Lynn Day, Gerald Coomes, Mike Coomes, Eddie Coomes, Ricky Coomes and Raymond Coomes serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 10am until the hour of service at 1pm.

Ms. McCroy was born August 2, 1949 in Springfield to the late James Richard and Jeanette Ware McCroy. She was a member of Greenbrier First Baptist Church and the the Greenbrier Order of the Eastern Star #469.

She is survived by her sister, Mary McCroy Mantooth of Adams; nephews, Jamie (Katie) Mantooth of Martin, TN and Bo (Loni) Mantooth of Medina, TN; nieces, Lori Jean Mantooth of Memphis and Hunter Mantooth of Ridgetop; great-nephews, Jack and Knox; and great-nieces, Porter, Betsy and Harper.

In addition to her father Mrs. Aldridge is preceded in death by her grandparents, Sarah and Billy Vinson.

Danny A. KirkhamAge 72 of Springfield passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Alive Hospice Madison Campus. He was born March 3, 1945 in Orlinda, TN to William Deward & Edna Earl Dixon Kirkham. He worked as a parts sales manager for Auto Zone before his retirement and was a member of Owens Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved his 1957 Chevrolet car and enjoyed piddling with repairs to it.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd Kirkham, Gerald Kirkham, Charles Kirkham and an infant brother; sisters, Joan Crabtree, Nancy Groves and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Judy Taylor Kirkham, Springfield, TN; son, Chris (Brenda) Kirkham, Stockdale, Texas; daughter, Stephanie Kirkham, Cross Plains, TN; brothers, David (Leslie) Kirkham, Orlinda, TN and Allen Kirkham, Portland, TN; sister, Josephine Hulsey, Springfield, TN; 3 grandchildren, Justin West, Todd West and Tyler Kirkham.

Milton "Micky" HittMilton “Micky” Ray Hitt, age 81, of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Ashland City.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 o’clock pm, Monday, February 12th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Johnny Trail and Bro. Cliett Goodpasture officiating. Burial followed in Joelton Hills Memory Gardens with Nathan Spears, David Spears, Matthew Spears, Braden Brown, Kevin Brown and Gary Jacobs serving as pallbearers.

The family received friends at the funeral home from 3:00PM-7:00PM on Sunday, February 11th and again on Monday beginning at 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.

Mr. Hitt was born on October 12, 1936 in Goodlettsville, Tennessee to the late Fred and Alice Hitt, Sr. He was retired from Ford Glass Plant, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was a member of Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hitt is preceded in death by siblings, Edith Flint, Wade Hitt, Bobby Hitt, Eleanor Hitt, and Kennth Hitt.
