Obituary for Peggy Phipps
Peggy Ann Weaver Phipps, age 90, of Murfreesboro and formerly of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in Murfreesboro.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Reverend Fred Hembree officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Wade Riggins, Tim Riggins, Clay Riggins, Addison Riggins, Warren Riggins and Wesley Riggins serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10am until the hour of service at 2pm.
Mrs. Phipps was born December 10, 1928 in Springfield to the late Walter and Virgie Eidson Weaver. She worked as a Logistics Technician for the Federal Government and was a member of the Springfield First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Phipps is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Phipps, Sr., her brothers, Raleigh Weaver, James Weaver and Buck Weaver, her sisters, Margaret Owens, Mary Katherine Davis and Martha Anderson, and her son-in-law, Leonard Riggins.
Mrs. Phipps is survived by her son, Howard “Lee” Phipps, Jr. of Murfreesboro; daughter, Naomi Riggins of Springfield; grandchildren, Wade Riggins, Tim Riggins and Clay Riggins; and great-grandchildren, Addison Riggins, Jenna Claire Riggins, Warren Riggins, Wesley Riggins and Walker Riggins.

Obituary for Billie Jean Henry Jernigan
Billie Jean Henry Jernigan, age 88 of Raleigh, NC and formerly of the Lamont community in Springfield, TN and Madisonville, KY, died Friday, January 25, 2019 at Bright Horizons in Raleigh.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1;00 PM at Milldale Chapel n Springfield with Henry Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Yates-Jernigan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Will Clinard, Neil Murphy, Lane Murphy, Seth Massey, Scott Jernigan, and Jason Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Clinard and Dr. Jack Hammond. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Jernigan was born September 7, 1930 in Robertson County to the late Lemuel Bell and Wilmyr Randolph Henry. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville and was a school teacher and a homemaker. She enjoyed doing needlepoint and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Raymond Jernigan, Sr. and by her brother, Phil D. Henry.
She is survived by her sons, William Raymond Jernigan, Jr. and wife, Penelope, of Kalamazoo, MI, Mark Randolph Jernigan and wife, Laura, of Orlinda, TN , and Henry Bernard Jernigan, and wife, Elizabeth, of Youngville, NC; sister-in-law, Donna H. Henry of Springfield; grandchildren, Blythe, Pierce, Darcy, Rhys, Corinne Elyse, Scott, and Stephen Jernigan; great grandchildren, Scottie and Isla Jernigan; and nieces, Philicia Clinard, Phonna Murphy, and Pharrah Massey.

Obituary for Jim Friedrich
James “Jim” Ronald Friedrich, age 66, of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 6:00 PM with Chaplain Gene Reynolds officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 until the hour of service at 6:00 PM.
Jim was born on June 14, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Richard and Celia Steil Friedrich. He was retired from sales and was a previous member of the Ashland City Civitan Club. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he his preceded in death by a brother, Richard Friedrich, Jr.; sister, Jo-Allyn Albin; daughter-in-law, Jill Friedrich; and sister-in-law, Shelley Dickmann.
He is survived by wife, Nancy Friedrich; son, Jared Friedrich; daughter, Kasey (Stephen) Lancaster; brother-in-laws, Albert Albin, Bill (Cheryl) Dickmann, Jon Dickmann, and Jay (Lisa) Dickmann.

Obituary for Timmy Bannister
Carl Timothy “Timmy” Bannister, age 53, of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Scott Davis officiating. His remains will be cremated following the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, February 2, 2019 from 10:00AM until the hour of service at 2:00PM.
Timmy was born on April 12, 1965 in Nashville, Tennessee to Lucille Dowlen Bannister and the late Carl Bannister. He was a construction worker, loved his family, and was a Christian.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by an infant grandchild.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his soul mate, Tammy Keyes; son, Wade (Paula) Moore; daughters, Sonya (Mike) Kalany, Melissa (Joseph) Morgan, Kayla Bannister, and Brittney Bannister; brothers, Dewayne (Melissa) Bannister and Donny (Kim) Bannister; sister, Tina (Shannon) Pendergraft; eight grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Obituary for Larry Neal Dickens
Larry Neal Dickens, age 66 of Old Hickory, TN, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019.
Larry was a loving husband, father, and brother. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, having served in the US Navy from ’71-’74. He then spent nearly 20 years on the Metro Police Department. Upon that retirement, he became a Drug and Alcohol Abuse counselor with various organizations, most recently, Cumberland Heights; spending the better part of his life helping people in every way. Larry was a man of many interests over the years. He was an avid sports fan and player as well as enjoying cooking, poetry, gardening, watching the bird feeders and observing wild life in general. He went all out decorating for the 4th of July and Christmas and enjoyed his Harley Davidson. He also was a historian of his hometown, Old Hickory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Barbara Dickens. He is survived by his wife and companion of 12 years, Dana Dickens; children, Christopher Neal Dickens, Samantha Dickens (Savion Moran), and step-son, Derrick Wilson (Amber); brother, Keith Dickens (Beatris); and a four-legged child, Harley.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Sunday, February 24 at Austin and Bell Hendersonville. Visitation with the family will be held from 2pm until the time of service at 3pm. Please come and join the family in sharing your favorite stories regarding Larry.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the GoFundMe page, that has been setup to aid the family with financial obligations related to Larry’s passing. All donations made there will be split evenly between the family, the American Cancer Society, and to the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, which helps kids fight drug and alcohol addiction.

Obituary for Marilyn Orman Rogers
Marilyn Orman Rogers, age 64 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 in her home.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She was retired from Wee Ones Hair Bows where she worked in sales. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville since 1980, where she was a member of the Ministers of Encouragement (MOE) Sunday School Class. She loved her church family and helping people, especially through the widows ministry. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping and reading.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Orman. She is survived by her husband of nearly 39 years, Richard Rogers; mother, Bobbie Jean Orman; daughters, Ashley Orman Rogers, Jennifer Rogers, and Patti Reid; grandchildren, Abigail, Dylan, Abbey Katelyn, and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Kate, Liam, Knoll, and T.J.; sister, Janice Webb (Coy); and nephew, Daniel Layton.
Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, January 30th, from 5pm until 8pm and again on Thursday, January 31st at Noon until the time of her Celebration of Life Service at 2pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Darace Tabor, Connor Lejsek, Norman Tidwell, Dylan Rogers, Terry Reed, Daniel Layton, David Orman, and Jim Bolton serving as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Jones and members of the MOE Class.

Cheral Lynn Hornbuckle, age 69 of Greenbrier passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at NHC Springfield.
The family will receive friends 5pm to 7pm Friday, February 8, 2019 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with a Memorial Service following at 7pm with Bro. Joey Beatty officiating.
She was born in Nashville, TN on March 17, 1949 to the late Milton G. Schroeder and Georgia Allen Schroeder. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Schroeder.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by husband, Ronnie Hornbuckle; mother, Georgia Allen Schroeder; sons, Jeffery A. Hornbuckle, Jereomy Hornbuckle; brother, Milton G. (Jeannie) Schroeder; sisters, Julie (Dave) Martin, Ricky (Earnest) Midgett and 2 grandchildren.
