In loving Memory squareLynn Stollings Buskirk, 83, of Springfield, died Thursday September 1, 2016 at his home.

In honor of his wishes, his remains will be cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Buskirk was born January 3, 1933 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Sydney and Lillian Helms Buskirk. He was a retired aluminum salesman from Easco Aluminum. Mr. Buskirk was of the Methodist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed playing basketball and tennis in his earlier years, but his favorite was always playing golf. He was a Civil War buff, and he loved stamp collecting.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Buskirk was preceded in death by his son: Robert Buskirk, his step-daughter: Patty Brown, and his grandchild: Stacy Clark. Obituary for Larry Dwight Farrow

Larry Dwight FarrowLarry Dwight Farrow, 71, of Springfield, died Wednesday August 31, 2016 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Saturday September 3rd at 12 noon in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family received friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Farrow was born December 18, 1944 in Peoria, IL to the late Rollie and Frances White Farrow. He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years and retired as a Seargent First Class. Mr. Farrow served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Farrow enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting, and repairing lawnmowers. In floral squareaddition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Barbara Jean Farrow, and by his siblings: Russell, Fred, Leroy, Dorothy, Marie, Wanda, Mary, and Joyce.

Mr. Farrow is survived by his wife of 50 years: Sharon Moden Farrow of Springfield, sons: Douglas Farrow of Holley, NY, Matthew Farrow of Springfield, grandchildren: Hunter Fiegel, Trevor Farrow, Garrett Farrow, Rebecca Farrow, and Madeline Farrow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.

Graveside services were held at 12 pm on Tuesday August 30, 2016 in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Dr. Bruce Grubbs officiating. Steve Perry, Randy Wilson, Ralph Bracey, James H. Grubbs Jr, John Grubbs and Joey Grubbs served as pallbearers. The family received friends at the Robertson County Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 am until 11:30 am.

Mr. Grubbs was born April 26, 1934 in Robertson Co. TN to the late William A. Grubbs and Eva Bell Brown Grubbs. A brother, Edward Brown Grubbs also preceded him in death. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Grubbs are his wife, Jo Evelyn Grubbs of Springfield; Sons and daughters-in-law, James H. and Terri Grubbs Jr. of Greenbrier and John Eric and Julie Grubbs of Portland; brother, Dr. Bruce Grubbs of Lebanon; grandchildren, floral squareJamie (Tony) Forster, Joey (Julie) Grubbs, Jada Grubbs; and great grandchildren Rebecca Forster, Morgan Forster, and Miles Grubbs.

The family request if so desired, memorial donations may be made in Jimmy’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All donations may be sent care of the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Obituary for Nancy Jean Krisle Tabor

Nancy Jean Krisle TaborNancy Jean Krisle Tabor of Nashville, TN, and formerly from Springfield, TN, went to be with Jesus on August 29, 2016 at the age of 88. Born at home on April 26, 1928 in Springfield, TN, she was the daughter of the late E.M. “Sam” Krisle and Ruth Lee Krisle. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1945 and from Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN, in 1950. Following college, she taught English at Greenbrier High School until she married on April 20, 1951, and moved to Bell Buckle, TN.

As the wife of a pastor of churches in Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky, she served her Lord by being very involved with church activities for many years including leading WMU, GAs, Acteens, and teaching Sunday School. She had a beautiful singing voice and was active in multiple church choirs. She had a servant’s heart and cherished opportunities to help others through food, friendship or just being there to listen. She cared about every person she met and loved them with her Father’s love. Her favorite things to do were to spend time with her family (six children), to faithfully pray for others, and to share Jesus with everyone she encountered.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Sam and Ruth Krisle, and also her first born child, Stephen “Steve” Jennings Tabor.

In addition to her husband of more than 65 years, Paul Jennings Tabor, Nancy is survived by five birth children – one son, Mark and wife Connie of Lawrenceville, GA; four daughters, Pat and husband Scott Dakunchak of Suwanee, GA, Nancy “Nan” and husband Terry Goins of Franklin, TN, Paula and husband Bill Hall of Nashville, TN, and Sherry Tabor and “adopted” daughter Lisa Hudson of Hanceville, AL; grandchildren Cresta Tabor, Brett Tabor, Lauren Tabor, Ryan Tabor, Jacob Goins, Hannah Goins, Graceanna Hall, and Faithlyn Hall; great-grandchildren Knox Tabor and Stephen Tabor.

floral squareMr. Dean was born September 23, 1959 in Robertson County to the late James Roy and Cora Lee Whiting Dean. He was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church and was a truck driver for Beacon Transport. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Anne Dean of Springfield; sons, Cody Dean and wife, Demetria of Orlinda and William Dean of Springfield; sister, Wanda Emerson of Springfield; and grandchildren, Josiah, Jonah, and Jeremiah Dean of Orlinda.

She was born December 25, 1957 in Nashville, TN to Phinus Porter and Bertha Lee Turner Brooks Bell. She worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Ingersoll Rand. She is preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Ammon Thomas Brooks and Ottis D. Bell. She was educated in the Robertson County school system and graduated from East Robertson High School. She was also a graduate of Draughon’s Business College in Nashville, TN and attended Volunteer State Community College. Denise accepted Christ at an early age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Cross Plains, TN, and was presently serving faithfully as associate minister at Parker’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Portland, TN.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband of 26 years, Sampson Williams; mother, Bertha Lee Turner Bell, both of Gallatin, TN; son, Lance Williams, Lafayette, TN; 2 grandchildren, Lance Kendrick Williams, Jr. and Addison Nicole Williams; sisters, Evelyn Jean (Cleophus) Payne, Springfield, TN and Rev. Visitation with the family was held Tuesday, from 12 noon until hour of service at 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Ellis was born February 12, 1925 in Robertson County to the late Marshall Sim and Georgia Wilson Ellis. He was a business owner and a member of Eastland Heights Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents Mr. Ellis is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Randolph Ellis; brothers, Rayburn Ellis, Hassell Ellis, Cyril Ellis and Donnie Ellis; and sister, Edna Joyce Ellis.

He was born April 16, 1939 in Greenbrier, TN to the late Willis Lawrence and Nettie Estella Smiley West. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Jean Wade.
He served in the US Army Reserve and worked for Nashville Gas Company. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was very active in community service and was awarded the first ever Citizen of the Year award from Greenbrier, TN.
