Obituary for Timothy McKinney
Timothy Ray “Tim” McKinney, 65, of Adairville, KY, passed from this life at his home on September 12, 2024.
Memorial services will be conducted at Adairville United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Clay Burchett officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
Mr. McKinney was born on June 6, 1959, in Russellville, KY to Thurman Ray and Carol Ann Huddleston McKinney, Jr. He was a Master Coffee Roaster and co-owner of Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company. Tim had a lifelong love of music as an accomplished musician and also enjoyed traveling worldwide. He is preceded in death by his father, and by his two sisters: Emily Cathleen McKinney and Kelly Ann McKinney.
Tim is survived by his mother: Carol McKinney of Adairville, by his brothers: Jerry Morgan (Becky) McKinney of Russellville, and George Michael McKinney of Central City, and by his nephews: Patrick Clay McKinney of Russellville, and Andrew Morgan McKinney (Jade Smith) of Russellville, and a very close friend: Lisa Davis.

Obituary for Mildred Dennis
Mildred Randolph Dennis, age 93 of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Eric Drake officiating. Burial took place at the Bethlehem Cemetery with Caleb Velazquez, Christian Kirby, Austin Spangler, Steve Randolph, Adam Randolph, Ryan Gilbert, Janice McGhee, and Joe Casey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Barbara Kirby and Diane Douglas. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 8 PM and Saturday from 11 AM until the time of service.
Mrs. Dennis was born January 13, 1931 in Springfield. She was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church and was a hard worker all of her life retiring from Wilson Sporting Goods. She loved yardwork, tending her flowers and keeping the sticks picked up. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved life by helping others whenever she saw a need.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Clifton Melvin Dennis; parents, Miller and Bertha Choate Randolph; brothers, Ralph and Joseph Randolph; great grandson, Justin McGhee; and sons-in-law, R.L. Douglas and Dudley McGhee.
Surviving her are her daughters, Barbara (Wayne) Kirby of Springfield, Diane Douglas of Springfield, and Janice McGhee of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Shaun (Kelley) McGhee, Dennis (Jessie) Spangler, Leanna Kirby, John Michael (Crystal) Gilbert, and Ryan Gilbert; great grandchildren, Kaelin (Sara) McGhee, Caleb Valazquez, Harley Gilbert (Eli West), Austin Spangler, Christian Kirby, Ocoee Gilbert, Addysyn Spangler, and Wyatt Gilbert; nephew, Steve (Teresa) Randolph; and great nephew and niece, Adam and Rachel Randolph.

Marsha Jean Cornish passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Born August 3, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, she embodied the spirit of warmth and togetherness throughout her life.
Marsha dedicated most of her professional career to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, where her desire to help others shined brightly. She played an instrumental role in assessing damage and dispersing funds, ensuring that those affected could recover and rebuild their lives. Her work not only illustrated her dedication but also highlighted her profound sense of responsibility to assist her fellow Tennesseans in times of need.
A fun-loving, family-oriented individual, Marsha enjoyed seeking any reason to gather her loved ones. Whether for birthdays, Thanksgiving, or her beloved holiday, Christmas, she always found a way to bring family together, creating precious memories that those who knew her will treasure.
Marsha’s passions extended beyond family gatherings; she found immense joy in spending time on the water. Whether aboard their houseboat on Old Hickory Lake or enjoying their condo in Panama City, Florida, she embraced the tranquility and happiness that these experiences brought her. Each year, she looked forward to leaving the day after Christmas to head to Panama City, where she and her family would spend weeks creating joyful moments together. As members of the Cumberland Old Hickory Yacht Club, Marsha enjoyed a sense of community and companionship among fellow boating enthusiasts.
Marsha Jean Cornish leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward her legacy of love and connection. She is survived by her son, Michael (Rebecca) Cornish; her daughter, Michele (Michael) Wikowsky; her grandchildren, Tiffany Simon, Tanner Simon, and Britney (Johnny) Weaver; as well as her great-grandchildren, Bentley Simon, Zoey Mowell, Dalton Mowell, Riley Weaver, and Ellie Mae Weaver. Also surviving are her beloved sisters, Doris (Craig) Allen and Vivian Stockman.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter A. Craddock and Jeanie McDougal Marshall Craddock; husband of 55 years Lee Halliwell Cornish, Jr.; sisters Debbie Craddock and Margaret Waynick.
Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.

Tom House, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Portland, Tennessee, at the age of 67. Born on October 27, 1956, in Corydon, Indiana, Tom’s life was characterized by a rich tapestry of hard work, humor, and love for his family. He was the son of the late Elvin House and Loretta Eastridge House.
Professionally, Tom was formerly an area supervisor and project manager for Rogers Group, Incorporated. He was currently employed with Hoover Materials where he was a plant manager since 2013. His dedication to his work was evident in his wonderful work ethic. Colleagues admired him for his quick wit and engaging personality, often recalling the playful pranks he delighted in and the laughter he brought to the workplace.
Tom’s vibrant spirit extended beyond his professional life. He cherished time spent with his family, particularly enjoying trips to Hawaii. His daughter, Whitni, and his grandchildren, Hayden Oeser, Connor Jenkins, and Aspen Jenkins, were at the center of his universe, and he took immense pride in their achievements and happiness. He was a loyal supporter of the University of Indiana basketball team and had a passion for watching NASCAR races, which often became joyful moments shared with family.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister Rita Ridge.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Sandra House; daughter, Whitni House; sisters, Beth House and Rose House; and his cherished grandchildren, Hayden, Connor, and Aspen. Tom leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and dedication, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no services.

Obituary for Ruby Jinnette
Ruby Gower Jinnette, age 86 passed away peacefully at her home on September 12th, after a long illness.
She was born May 14, 1938, in Robertson County to Rayburn and Francis (Head) Gower. She was a 1956 Graduate of Cheatham County Central High School. She married Jimmy Jinnette, February 14, 1964. Ruby was a member of the Quartet Group, The Pleasantaires, singing alto for a long time. Ruby was a member of the Oaklawn Free Will Baptist Church. For many years, she had several positions within the church. She spent her time as a pianist, church secretary, assistant treasurer, VBS worker and singing in the choir. Ruby had many talents. For many years, she made specialty cakes including wedding cakes. She was an excellent cook, which she enjoyed. She also loved working in her vegetable garden and flower gardens. Ruby also loved her cats. Ruby was a devoted Christian who loved serving the Lord. She always put others before herself. She found her greatest joy in her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Ruby is survived by daughter, Jama Vollmar (Steve) and grandsons, Brandon and Justin Vollmar, Bowling Green, Ohio and son, Allen Jinnette, Nashville. Sister Sue Gower Naron of Murfreesboro. Nephews, Ray Blessing (Sandy) of Clarksville, and Randy Blessing (Kim) of Greenbrier, Niece, Linda Blessing of Clarksville, and several great nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death, husband, Jimmy Jinnette, parents Rayburn and Francis Gower, Sister Evelyn Gower Blessing and in-laws, Earl and Lucille Jinnette.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 o’clock pm, Tuesday, September 17, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Danny Thompson, Bro. Gene Parton, and Bro. Zach Vickery officiating. Burial will follow at EverRest of Cheatham with Brandon Vollmar, Justin Vollmar, Ray Blessing, Randy Blessing, Johnny Palmore, Dwight Comer, and Drew Comer serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 16th from 4-8pm and again on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the hour of service at 1:00 pm.

Margaret Carol Gross “Peggy”-age 73 of Watertown, TN went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Quality Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Lebanon, TN. She was born October 8, 1950 in Nashville, TN to Samuel & Leona Wilson Carver. She worked for Carver Plumbing for several years but was mostly a stay-at-home mom while her children were growing up. She was a member of White Hill Community Church in Millersville, where she enjoyed worshipping and serving. She loved cooking for church dinners and visiting shut-ins and the sick. She also loved family gatherings, reading romance novels, playing bingo and canasta and crocheting. She was a foster parent to over 70 children. She loved children and animals and always took in every stray to love and care for them. She was known for always giving honest answers when asked anything. So, if you didn’t want the truth don’t ask her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doug Gross; brother, Sammy Carver; sister, La-Verne Carver Nash. She is survived by her sons, Jason (Michelle) Gross, Watertown, TN and Jeromy (Brandi Sharber) Gross, White House, TN; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Carver, Inglewood, TN and Ray Carver, Donelson, TN; sisters-in-law, Towana Scott, Portland, TN, Marie Carver and Carol Carver; 3 grandchildren, Savannah Gross and Andrew Gross, both of Watertown, TN and Christian Gross, Portland, TN.

Obituary for Lester Earl Singer
Lester Earl Singer, a beloved musician and cherished member of the country music community, passed away on September 11, 2024, at the age of 69. Named after bluegrass legends Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, Lester’s musical journey began early and flourished throughout his life.
He was born July 12, 1955 In Clinton, IL to Joseph & Margie Underwood Singer. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Singer, Franklin, KY; 4 daughters, Jana Spicer, Carrie (Chad) Cayce, Haley (Kyle) Kelley, White House, TN and Marissa Singer, Franklin, KY; brothers, Eddie (Chrissy) Singer, Pontiac, IL and John Singer, WA; sisters Janice (Gary) Eble, Tiskilwa, IL, Kelli Reynolds and Jennifer Wyant, both of Bloomington, IL; 7 grandchildren, Zachary, Austin, Lucas, Caleb, Ava, Behr and Brixley; 1 great-grandchild, Willow.
Lester moved to Nashville in 1976 to join recording artist Mel Street’s band, where he played lead guitar and sang background vocals. He then went on to work for Charlie Pride, further gaining recognition in the industry. In 1981, he joined Whispering Bill Anderson’s Po’ Folks Band, where he would remain lead guitarist and band leader for over 40 years, the longest tenure in the band’s history.
Throughout his noteworthy career, Lester enjoyed backing up an array of country music artists, ranging from Brad Paisley to George Jones. His versatility and talent made him a well-respected and well-loved member of the country music community. He was a member of the staff band and appeared on numerous television shows on The Nashville Network, including “You Can Be A Star.” He was later part of the Country’s Family Reunion staff band on RFD-TV for the entirety of its television series. Mr. Singer was featured on many of Bill Anderson’s recordings and was a fixture at Creative Workshop and Hilltop Studios. His performances at The Grand Ole Opry and The Ryman Auditorium spanned nearly 50 years, making him a significant figure in these iconic venues.
Beyond his profession in music, Lester was a devoted family man. His family was his greatest source of happiness, with his world revolving around his beloved wife and four daughters. He made it a priority to be deeply involved in his daughters’ lives, earning a reputation as a wonderful and loving father. Lester was known for his warm personality, wonderful sense of humor and deep friendships. He shared a special bond with Bill Anderson, who affectionately called him “Lester” while he was known as “Bubba.” Their camaraderie extended beyond music, often engaging in friendly sports rivalries, with Lester cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears.
Lester’s legacy lives on through his music and the countless lives he touched. His compassionate heart, loving spirit and musical talents are being displayed and will live on through his grandchildren. His memory will be cherished by family, friends, and fans alike. His music and spirit will forever resonate in our hearts.
An informal gathering of remembrance will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 2pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Interment will follow in White House Memorial Gardens with grandsons and sons-in-law serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 12pm until 2pm at the funeral home. Obituary for Janet Lee Henon
Janet Lee Henon, aged 72, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, at MD Anderson Medical Center, in Houston, Texas, following a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband, Paul, and daughters, Jennifer and Jada, were by her side.
She was born on August 3, 1952, in Gallatin, Tennessee, to Robert and Geneva Gammon. She was a resident of Springfield and a 1970 graduate of East Robertson High School. Janet married Paul in 2000, in Springfield, Tennessee. She worked honorably at Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation for 35 years until retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; an older brother, Robert ‘Bobby’ Gammon and his wife, Jan; preceded in death by another brother, James ‘Jimmy’ Gammon, and survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Grant) Bell and Jada (Chase) Cervantes; and three grandchildren, Jackson, Chandler, and Raegan Bell; and Sutton and Asher Cervantes.
Family and friends are invited to the Springfield First United Methodist Church, 511 S. Oak Street, from 11:00-2:00 on September 21, 2024, to reminisce and honor the life of Janet. The service will follow at 2:00.

Jo Ann Garrett, age 87, of Madison, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Garrett’s wishes were to be cremated, and the family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
Mrs. Garrett was born November 10, 1936 in Cedar Hill, TN to the late James Cornelius Adams and Nettie Ruth Holman Adams. She graduated from Nashville Business College and completed post graduate course work at Vanderbilt University. She was an Administrative Assistant for the TN State Supreme Court and was a CPS with the TN State Supreme Court for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her son, James Edward Garrett.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John Ed Garrett; daughter, Carol Ann Garrett Walker Blackmon; 6 grandchildren, Beau Johnson Garrett, Heidi Beth (Pat) Burke, Devin James Garrett, Ginger Ann Walker (Cameron) Jennings, Natalie Grace Walker, and William Garrett Blackmon; 1 great grandchild, Roman Spencer Jennings; and sisters, Betty Jane Fiser, and Nancy Ruth Arnold.

He was born February 17, 1940 in Littlefield, Texas to Hulon Glen & Geneva Bernice Hines Pace. He worked as a music producer and engineer and was the owner/operator of Starplex Productions. He enjoyed singing, music and photography. He especially liked scenic pictures and taking wedding pictures.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lola Beth Pace. Mr. Dorris was born September 6, 1938, in Robertson County, to the late James Wesley Dorris and Lula Belle Biggs Dorris. He was a Diesel Mechanic most of his life working on power equipment.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dorris was preceded in death by a son, Dennis K. Dorris; granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Breaux; brothers, Gerald Dorris, Porter Dorris, Phineas Dorris, and Roy Biggs; and sisters, Flora Belle Dorris, Dimple Prather, and Marie Matherly.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lillian Dorris; son, Wesley E. (Janis) Dorris Jr.; daughter, Sherri (Buddy) Grant; grandsons, Patrick Jones, and Davy Dorris; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Frances Smith; and his loving dog, JoJo.

William Clarence Osborne, Sr., age 81, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Mr. Osborne was born September 3, 1943, in Carthage, TN to the late William Thomas Osborne and Daisy Clara Bennett Osborne. He was a carpenter and a member of Life Church Nashville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Osborne was preceded in death by his 1st wife, of 45 years, Jackie Lee Osborne; 2nd wife, Patricia Simmons Osborne; son, William Clarence Osborne, Jr.; 2 brothers; 1 sister; and a son-in-law, Bart Johnson.
He is survived by his sons, Edward “Joe” (Terri) Osborne, and Timothy “Timmy” (Margarita) Osborne; daughters, Anita “Christy” (Jim) Brewington, Linda (Jimmy) Presley, Teresa Osborne, and Carey (Chris) Brown; 20 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren; and a sister, Brenda Holland.

Martha Alice Morris, age 67 of Donelson passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Summit Medical Center. She was the daughter of Cecil Milton and Gracie Lamberth Morris and was born on May 12, 1957 in Sumter, SC, She worked as an office clerk for the Metro Action Commission. She was a 1975 graduate of White House High School. During high school and in her early college years, she worked as a waitress for The Blue Devil Hut and The Other Place. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed cooking, working puzzles and crocheting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Gracie Morris. She is survived by her fiancé’, Lawrence Bess, Donelson, TN; sister, Susan (Joe) Morris Swab, Mount Juliet, TN; brothers, Cecil (Penny) Morris, Jr., Paducah, KY, Danny (Sheryl) Morris, White House, TN and Allen Mitchell, WV; many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 7pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Visitation is planned for Thursday, October 3, 2024 4-7pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow on Friday morning, October 4, 2024 at 10am in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.
