Kelly Groves Of Cross Plains Dies In Auto Accident
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Kelly Renee Groves, 40, with heavy ties to the Robertson County area has died. Groves lost her life in a tragic auto accident on August 4 in Davidson County.
According to Metro Nashville Police, Groves lost control of the 1991 GMC Sonoma she was driving Thursday night. Investigators report Groves veered off I-65 north just past the I-24 split and crashed. MAP Groves’ vehicle hit an embankment and then rolled several times.
Officials said that Groves was not wearing a safety belt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Groves’ accident was covered by all of the Nashville media stations but Smokey Barn News only learned about Groves ties to Robertson County after receiving calls from former East Robertson High School classmates yesterday. Groves graduated from ERHS class of 1994.
“Kelly was truly an earthly angel, taken too soon. Her smile lit up not only the room but your soul. She was the first to flash you her big smile and her signature “Hey Sweet Girl”! Kelly loved to make other people beautiful, although she was an aesthetician she was quick to tell you how perfect you already were! She was a sweet, kind, genuine, humble soul. Kelly loved spending time with her friends and most importantly, as a single mom, her pride and joy Dawson, 14. Kelly will be forever missed and her friendship cherished.” Natalie Austin (friend)
According to her on-line obituary Groves’ is survived by her son, Dawson Fuqua of Nashville; parents, Gaylon and Sheron Groves of Portland; brother, Paul (Pam) Groves of Springfield and grandmother, Edith Lane of Goodlettsville.
Groves’ funeral was held today, Monday August 8th at 1 p.m., at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home. Interment was at Groves Cemetery in Robertson County.
The thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Kelly as they face her sudden and tragic loss.
