ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – It’s that time of year again, pile the kids in the car and see the lights!! Below are some of the best light shows in Robertson County!
Load the kids in the car and see the local Charlie Brown Christmas Animated light Show and other area light shows across Robertson County!
• (Springfield, TN) “A Charlie Brown Christmas Light Show” Complete with story! Tune your radio to 90.1 for the show. (MAP)
A themed synchronized light show on 4700 block of Palestine Rd in Springfield. Tune your radio to 90.1 for the show.
• (Downtown Springfield, TN) Christmas lights Drive Thru
A residence located at 118 North Main St. in downtown Springfield is lit up front and back! Map Just stroll into the driveway and make your way through the Christmas lights around the back and then full circle back to the front.
• (Cedar Hill, TN) Christmas lights synchronized to over 10 songs
On nightly until about 9pm. Tune radio to 98.1

• (Goodlettsville, TN) “Christmas Lights Galore”

• (Greenbrier, TN) 2019 Lights On Logan light Show (MAP)
Over 30,000 lights synchronized to 416 channels of computer-controlled animation.
The show will be running til December 29 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Address: 2760 Logan Road Greenbrier, TN. The light show runs every 25 minutes from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. (11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays) Tune your car stereo to 103.9 FM when you arrive to hear the show.

Light Display: Intersection of Candy & Old Greenbrier Pike behind Greenbrier Church of Christ on Hwy 41
Greenbrier – Christmas on Lights Chapel.
2953 Lights Chapel Rd. The show runs 5:00PM to 10PM. Just tune your radio to the designated station via the sign when you arrive. Turn off of Hwy 41 in Greenbrier to Lights Chapel by the Calvary Baptist church.

Cocoa in Cottontown Christmas Lights
The show will run from 4:30-9:30 nightly weather permitting. Tune in to 97.7 FM.

“We will be having our annual Cocoa in Cottontown event on December 16th! The Grinch will be here for a meet and greet and we will be handing out hot chocolate and candy canes to everyone that comes by!

Winter Wonderland!
The public is invited to join with friends and neighbors to celebrate the opening of Winter Wonderland’s 23rd year at J. Travis Price Park by Springfield’s Parks & Recreation Department. Location: 4155 Wilks Roads Springfield, TN. This Springfield tradition boasts a captivating display of thousands of lights and more than a dozen holiday scenes. Winter Wonderland continues nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., December 2 through December 23, 2023. Admission is free.

December 2nd will be a Tree lighting and Vendors,
December 9th (DUE TO INCLIMENT WEATHER) Pony rides and craft projects for the kids will be postponed to Dec 23.
December 16th Movie night (weather permitting)
December 23rd Little Critters Petting Zoo and Movie night (weather permitting) PLUS Pony rides and craft projects for the kids
*All other nights will be drive-thru only

KIWANIS FOR KIDS TOY DRIVE – KIWANIS CLUB OF SPRINGFIELD, TN
Help a child in Robertson County have a Merry Christmas this year by purchasing a toy from a local store and dropping it in the box. Please have all toys ready by Sunday, December 10th. Toys will be distributed to families in need on Saturday, December 16th.

December 12: Rob Co. Community Band presents a Christmas Concert
The Robertson County Community Band will present a Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 12th at the Byrum-Porter Senior Center, located at 9123 Highway 49 East in Orlinda. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm and is free. Refreshments will be served during intermission.
The Community Band will perform many well-known favorites including “White Christmas”, “Christmas at the Movies” – which is a medley of songs made famous in various Christmas movies, “A Nutcracker Spectacular”, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, “Sleigh Ride” and many more sounds of the season!

Inclement Weather Policy: We follow the Robertson County School System Policy. If schools are closed for weather related reasons, activities and outings are canceled unless otherwise notified.

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays – Lunch at the RC Senior Center by Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a service through Mid Cumberland that provides hot healthy meals to Senior Adults (age 60 and above) who cannot get one otherwise. There is not an income requirement and meals are free. Donations are accepted at any time.
If you would like to join us at the Senior Center for a congregate meal at lunch time, we would love to have you join us. You might even decide to stay and play a round of dominos, cards, or bingo.
Note: There is a form to fill out for all participants that can be picked at the center.
This is a good way to gather, make new friends, and enjoy some laughter. We look forward to seeing you!!

The United Ministries Food Bank would like to inform the residents of Robertson County that they are still helping with food needs.
If you are struggling to put food on your table they can help.
They are located at 808 S Main St. (beside Cope). Familes need to have ID’s and Birthdays dates for all living at their residents.
Residents are welcome to come in monthly for assistance. If you have questions please call 615-384-8306.
Hours: Open Monday thru Thursday 10:30AM to 1:30 PM.

We have been working diligently to improve the situation in our area and lower our euthanasia rates. This has only been possible with support from our commissioners and mayor, and leadership of our Director Kevin Clinard. We promote spay and neuter.
