Millersville Area Home A Total Loss After Morning Fire

MILLERSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Millersville home is a total loss following a devastating fire that started just after midnight Sunday morning.

Fire crews from across the area battled the fire throughout the night and into the morning.  According to officials with the Millersville Fire Department, Millersville Police were first to arrive at the home and reported visible flames and the homeowner on the roof attempting to extinguish the fire.

The home is located in the 1000 block on Langbrae Drive which sits near the Robertson/Sumner border. MAP

The arrival of first fire units reported heavy fire across the entire roof of the large home. Millersville Fire, Goodlettsville Fire and the White House Community Fire Department-Station 51 and 52 all battled the fire until sunrize. Box 55 and Rehab 83 operated on scene for several hours offering firefighters well-needed breaks with shelter from the rain, snacks, water and Gatorade.  Hendersonville Fire brought their ladder truck but were unable to set up due to the topography and limited access to the home.

“Fire crews had a sufficient water supply from fire hydrants but limited means to apply water as the type of construction made it difficult to reach the fire. Engineered floor systems in the home failed and made interior operations near impossible,” said Millersville Fire Chief Brandon Head. “The fire was brought under control around sunrise and the official cause is still under investigation.”

According to Chief Head, the structure was home to a family of five and no injuries were reported.
