Millersville Responds After TBI Executes Search Warrants

MILLERSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Following yesterday’s TBI search warrants at the Millersville Police Department and the residence of Assistant Police Chief Shawn Taylor, the City of Millersville has released a statement regarding the situation. Smokey Barn News is publishing the statement in its entirety without commentary or modification.

The statement was provided by Millersville City Attorney Bryant Kroll.

City of Millersville Clarifies TBI Investigation and City Cooperation

Months ago, the City of Millersville requested that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) investigate criminal activity that occurred within the City prior to January 2024. These activities included police misconduct involving the employment of uncertified police officers, the illegal printing of police commission cards, theft of city documents and city property, election fraud, and voter fraud. The City has also sought assistance from other agencies, including the FBI, in addressing these and other matters.

Despite the City’s repeated requests for assistance, no third-party agency has provided the requested support, and many of our inquiries have gone unanswered. The lack of responsiveness from these agencies is both puzzling and concerning, particularly given the need for accountability and transparency in these investigations.

Nevertheless, the Millersville Police Department remains fully committed to upholding its responsibility to enforce state and local laws. The Department does not need to wait for third-party agencies to intervene before conducting investigations or taking action to prevent illegal activity within the City. We will continue to fulfill our mission to protect and serve the citizens and residents of Millersville without hesitation.

Yesterday, the TBI executed search warrants at City Hall, seeking various files and electronic information. These warrants suggest the TBI is investigating alleged “official misconduct” involving individuals previously reported to the TBI by the Millersville Police Department. In fact, the Millersville Police Department has made multiple attempts to provide the very information that was seized in yesterday’s search.

The Millersville Police Department has nothing to hide and welcomes the TBI’s investigation. We remain willing and fully committed to cooperating with the TBI as they continue their inquiry into these serious matters. The City has been, and will continue to be, transparent and cooperative throughout this process. We look forward to working with the TBI to ensure that justice is served and that the integrity of our City is upheld.
