Milling and Paving in Downtown Springfield to Begin Thursday

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to Springfield officials, Contractors working for the City of Springfield will begin milling downtown starting Thursday, October 21, 2021. After milling is complete, crews will adjust manholes, pave streets, and finalize the project with striping. Work is scheduled to be completed on November 1, 2021, weather permitting.

Pavement on the following streets are scheduled to be milled on October 21 and 22:

S. Main Street from Central Avenue to 8th Avenue.
Locust Street to 7th Avenue.

Pavement on the following streets are scheduled to be milled on October 25 and continue for approximately one week:

W. 7th Avenue
N. Main Street
S. Locust Street
W. 6th Avenue
W. Court Square

Residents can expect temporary intermittent lane closures. However, at least one lane will remain open at all times.

Drivers are advised that there will be no parking on North Main Street on October 21 and 22 and around the square on October 24. Drivers are encouraged to utilize the free public parking lots located downtown.
