THP Air Unit Finds Missing 
73 Yr Old Greenbrier Man In Creek Christmas Day

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – On Christmas day, a 73 year old Robertson County man was reported missing. The man had last been seen at around 11:40 am Christmas morning after he went for a walk in his driveway, according to a release from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Around 2:00 pm Christmas day the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office reached out to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Aviation Division for air support to assist in the search.

It was further reported that the man had mobility issues. THP Aviation Pilot Lieutenant Brad Lund flew to the location and began an aerial search of the area. Lieutenant Lund located the missing man about ½ mile from his residence lying partially in a creek off of Distillery Road in the Greenbrier area. MAP

According to the THP, the man initially was not moving and appeared to be lying in an awkward position. Lieutenant Lund immediately observed that the man was experiencing a medical emergency or was possibly deceased.

Lieutenant Lund immediately notified Sergeant Hester with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and provided the man’s location. Lieutenant Lund continued to circle the subject and eventually saw him move.

Sergeant Hester along with Robertson County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene. The man was removed from the water and transported by EMS for medical treatment.

According to the THP, the man is expected to recover.
