Sue (Ellis) Fuqua
September 9, 1935 ~ February 4, 2025 (age 89)
Sue Fuqua of Greenbrier, Tennessee, left her earthly home on Tuesday February 4, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Fuqua, her brother, Dennis Ellis, and her mother, Elsie Ford Ellis.
Sue was born in Cross Plains, Tennessee, on September 9, 1935, and as a young girl moved with her family to East Nashville where she grew up and graduated from Hume Fogg High School in 1953. She met her future husband, Carl, at their mutual employer (Randolph and Rice), and after a whirlwind courtship, they married on December 4, 1953. In 1955, they purchased property and moved to Robertson County. A strong person of faith, Sue was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenbrier for over sixty years where at various times she taught Sunday School, coordinated senior adult activities, participated in committees, led Wednesday night children’s mission groups, and sang in the choir. For over ten years, Sue taught pre-school at Bethel’s Mother’s Day Out program. Sue was also an active member of the Red Hats and the General Jethro Sumner Chapter of the DAR. For twelve years, Sue volunteered at NorthCrest Medical Center donating as many as 1000 hours per year. An enthusiastic traveler, Sue loved to read and attend live theater performances. She adored her grandchildren, who called her MeMy, and cared for them often during their younger years, spoiling them with treats, supporting their projects, and attending sports and school activities.
Sue is survived by her four children — Vickie Wright (Harold), Carla Bellenfant (Jim), Paul Fuqua (Robin), and Jon Fuqua (Danna); her grandchildren –Dayne Wright (Jamie), Patrick Wright (Courtney), Cliff Burr, Andy Pitt (Erica), Lacye Krisle (Dale), Leighton Fuqua (Alyssa), Grace Meadows (Caleb) Ashley Baker (Ian), Nick Bellenfant, and Ethan (Claire) Fuqua; great-grandchildren – Carter, Lyla, Nolen, and Dawson Wright; Grayson and Olivia Wright; Bella Clinard; Reagan and Avery Krisle; Haddon, Everett, and Gabriel Fuqua; Aidan, Olivia, and Daisy Meadows; and Evie and Ollie Baker. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Kurzrock (Karl).
Sue was a wonderful and caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She poured her life into her faith and family, and she will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 8th, at 12:00 noon at the Bethel Baptist Church in Greenbrier with Reverend Brandon Pugh and Brother Jon Fuqua officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayes Cemetery with Dayne Wright, Patrick Wright, Cliff Burr, Andy Pitt, Leighton Fuqua, Nick Bellenfant, and Ethan Fuqua serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Bethel Baptist Church.

Edward Tanner, Jr.
July 20, 1937 ~ February 5, 2025 (age 87)
Edward Tanner, Jr., age 87 of Springfield, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with David Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with his grandchildren serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service.
Mr. Tanner was born July 20, 1937 in Springfield to the late Edward and Lorine Evans Tanner, Sr. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and was a retired Maintenance Director at Springfield Baptist Church. He previously worked at Acme Boot and Hinkle Chair Company. He loved fishing when he was able, woodworking, and enjoyed taking care of his neighbor’s yards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Plunkett Tanner, and his sisters, Diane Milam and Bonnie Goostree.
Surviving him are his sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Dixie Tanner of Lake Placid, FL, Richard and Darla Tanner of Springfield, and John and Jennifer Tanner of Lebanon; brother, Terry Tanner of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staffs at Morningside and NHC in Springfield. They were exceptional and cared for him well. A special thanks to Misty Payne and Kesha Hardin at NHC for lovingly caring for him at the end.

Samuel Wrenn Rice
December 9, 1940 ~ February 6, 2025 (age 84)
Samuel Wrenn “Daddy Sam” Rice, 84, of Greenbrier, passed from this life on Thursday February 6, 2025, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday February 10th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Sharon Cemetery with Richard Washer, Ty Watts, Shawn Jones, Jordan Moore, Ervin Brown, and Bill James serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Bradigan, Frank Raines, Donnie Edwards, Sterling Edwards, and Don Williams. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Sam was born December 9, 1940, in Nashville, to the late Hubert Wrenn and Elizabeth Madell Taylor Rice. He was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School Class of 1959. Sam was a retired sales rep with Tisco, he owned and operated Model Tractor company in Springfield from 1974 until 1985, and he was a member of Springfield First United Methodist Church. He loved restoring cars, boating, being on the water and being outdoors, and in his younger days he enjoyed racing cars at Union Hill Racetrack. Sam was a handy man of all trades and he had a heart of service for his fellow man that included going on mission trips and always being willing to help anyone that he could.
Sam is survived by the love of his life, his wife Elva Jean Allbert Rice, and they would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on February 7th, by his daughter and son-in-law: Stacey and Jon Moore of Greenbrier, by his son and daughter-in-law: Scott and Heather Rice of Greenbrier, by his grandchildren: Hannah Moulton, Callie Moulton, Jordan Moore, Hayden Rice, and Addie Rice, by his great grandchildren: Wes and Ella Gossage, by his sister and brother-in-law: Elizabeth and Roger Williams of Joelton, and by his sister-in-law: Diane Cathey of Hendersonville.

Annabell Nickell

Madison, TN
Annabelle Nickell, born on June 28, 1953, peacefully departed this world on February 8, 2025 in Ashland City TN.
Annabelle is survived by her children, James Weeks and Angie Weeks; step children; George Nickell, David Nickell, Amber Cole, and Amy Ritchie; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother and two sister.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Nickell, as well as her son, Aaron Weeks, and another brother.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Kenneth Thad Williams
June 28, 1931 – February 1, 2025
Kenneth Thad Williams, age 93 of Greenbrier, TN passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Alive Hospice Residence. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Bethlehem Cemetery, Springfield, TN with Bro. Jon Briggs officiating.
He was born at home in Greenbrier, TN to the late Elvin and Alma Pope Williams on June 28, 1931. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Ann Jones Williams; son, Todd Williams; brothers, Milton Williams, Harris Williams and sister, Audrey Hammond. He is survived by son, Spencer Thad Williams of Greenbrier; brother, Fred (Sheryl) Williams of Ridgetop; sister, Arnell (Howard “Junior”) Jernigan of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Tasha (Clinton) Mead, Courtney (Ryan) Rigsby; great-grandchildren, Savanah Highley, Bethany Mead, Elizabeth Mead and Sara Beth Mead. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering with old cars, BINGO, his vegetable garden and being outdoors.
He was retired from Peterbilt Motor Company. He experienced a full life.

Cecil Paul Hicks, ag 68 of White House passed away Sunday night, February 2, 2025 due to injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born September 2, 1956 in Nashville, TN to Paul & Nancy Templeton Hicks. He worked as a truck driver for Brandon Company.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of The Turning Point Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; significant other of more than 30 years, Sue Flynn; grandson, Michael Kobold; brother, Billy Hicks. He is survived by his son, Paul (Amanda) Hicks, Portland, TN; daughters, Kim (Stephen) Burton, Goodlettsville, TN and Meghan Craig, New Hampshire; brothers, Gary Hicks, FL, Mike Hicks, Cross Plains, TN and Ricky (Lori) Hicks, Greenbrier, TN; 8 grandchildren, Chelsey Burton, Austin (Kaci) Hicks, Hunter, Cheyenne) Hicks, Gavin (Natalie) Burton, Jessica (Jeramia) Jones, Cody Brake, Tyler (Kristen) Brake and Dalton (Taylor) Brake; 9 great-grandchildren.

George Clarke Curevich

George Clarke Curevich of Chapmansboro, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2025 at the age of 80.
Visitation will be at Trinity Baptist Church in Clarksville on Saturday, February 8th from 11 – 1:00 pm. Service will be at 1:00 pm.
He was born on April 26, 1944, and lived most of his adult life in LaVergne, TN. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Tammy Annette Zelenka and grandson, Stephen Andrew Reed. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Obera Curevich, Daughter, Georgia Evans (Scott), daughter Rebecca Reed, son George Paul Curevich and son Kevin Curevich. He leaves behind 2 sisters, 1 brother, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many cousins.
As a young man he served in the Navy, returned home and went on to open a Gun and Sporting Goods Store in LaVergne. He spent most of his life doing what he loved; hunting and camping whenever he could. If he spent any time around you, he was known for giving you things. He wanted people to know they were loved and mattered to him. He loved being around people. He loved talking to people, visiting and eating out. He enjoyed his church family at Miracle Baptist in LaVergne and Trinity Baptist in Clarksville. He formed many friendships in which he valued and cherished. He loved his wife and children more than anything, and always made sure his children had a place to call home. He came to know Jesus and spent his time fervently talking to any and everyone he could about knowing the Lord, including his doctors and nurses. He wanted everyone to be saved. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all of his family.

Mary Elizabeth Fyke Brown, age 75, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the home of her son. A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, February 8th in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Pastor Eric Taylor officiating.

Ms. Brown was born August 13, 1949, in Springfield, to the late William Matthew Fyke and the late Rebecca Ruth Dowlen Fyke. She worked as a Rental Agent/Property Manager for G S Moore & Son for many years and was a very active member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, William Benton (Brittaney) Brown; daughter, Charlotte Ruth Walsh; and 6 grandchildren, Alexandria Maddox, Ruth Walsh, Matthew Walsh, Elizabeth Brown, Emma Brown, and Lylah Brown.

Robert Wayne Gibbs, age 83 of White House passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. He was born July 26, 1941 in Bowling Green, KY to Clyde & Virgnia Warren Gibbs. He worked 40+ years as a service manager for John Deere.and had been attending White House First Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the US Army.
He enjoyed working on and restoring old tractors and cars, race car driving, Bingo, playing the slots and spending Christmas with the family. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine Gibbs; 3 brothers, Sammy, Billy and Michael; 4 sisters, Linda, JoAnn, Sue and Faye. He is survived by his son, Robbie (Michelle) Gibbs, Cross Plains, TN; brother, James Warren (Diane) Gibbs, Panama City, FL; 4 grandchildren, Cory (Amanda), Dwayne (Kelsey), Cody Midgett and Chase Midgett; 5 great-grandchildren, Skylar, Logan, Ezra, Wyatt and Shepherd.
