Candy Lorraine Cane Williams departed this world on March 7, 2025, surrounded by her family and an abundance of love at the Robertson County Animal Clinic in Springfield, TN.
Candy Cane is survived by her mother, Melissa Williams, and her sister Bailey Williams-Dowlen.
Candy Cane was born in Clarksville, TN on December 1, 2008. She moved to Springfield, TN on February 1, 2009, to live with her family. We thought that we were getting a cute, cuddly Yorkie, but thankfully we got a feisty, rambunctious, surly tomboy. Candy Cane was a daredevil. There wasn’t a bird, rabbit, squirrel, or 50-pound dog that she didn’t believe her 9 pounds couldn’t defeat.
Candy Cane loved bacon, Cheerios, tacos, and cheesecake. She was territorial over any blanket that she encountered. She loved being in her sister’s space. To her, anything that was Bailey’s was hers. She loved car rides with the wind blowing on her face. Summer was her favorite season.
Candy Cane was somewhat of an introvert/extrovert. She didn’t like to be around a crowd, but she loved attention. She disliked wearing clothes or hairbows but loved her “boss lady” sweater. She hated going to the groomer but preened like a peacock once groomed. She could be a little judgy, especially on a Saturday morning when her mother was belting out Beyoncé as she cleaned the house or her sister ate the last of the Cheez-Its. No one gave the side-eye quite like Candy Cane.
Candy Cane knew that our world revolved around her, and we loved it. Candy Cane was not a pet, she was family. She loved us unconditionally. She was our companion, our best friend, and our confidante. She was our little boss lady. She always let us know that we were her people, and she loved us. Our love for Candy Cane knew no bounds. It was bigger than the sky. The joy that she brought into our lives was immeasurable. We loved her to the event horizon. We were her people, her protector, her safe place, her family, and she knew it. Even though she has crossed the rainbow bridge, she will never be forgotten. She will live in our hearts forever.
We would like to give a special thanks to the terrific team at the Robertson County Animal Clinic. You took care of our baby with love, respect, patience, and dignity for 16 years.
Please contact your local animal shelter to see how you can donate or volunteer.
