Orlinda Fire Dept. Wins Life Saving Equipment Grant (Full Story)

ORLINDA TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Earlier this year Orlinda Fire Chief Dusty Johnson applied for a grain bin rescue tube grant in the event a farmer or worker were to become trapped in grain.

This week it became a reality when the Orlinda Fire Dept won the grant to acquire a rescue tube. This week the equipment arrived and training began immediately. Ricky Stark of Orlinda provided the corn and location for the training exercise.

Many surrounding fire depts participated with Orlinda Firefighters including, Cross Plains, White House Community, North Robertson, Springfield Fire, the City Of White House Fire Department, Ridgetop Fire, the Adams Fire Dept, and the Robertson County Emergency Management agency who showed up to participate in the training.

“Like with all grants, we didn’t get everything we need so we’re asking for donations to complete this rescue tool, this is for all Robertson County and surrounding areas if needed” Orlinda Fire Chief Dusty Johnson
