Pedestrian Struck By Car Crossing Street At Night-2nd Time In 3 Weeks
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A pedestrian in Springfield was injured Friday evening after being struck by a passing motorist on Memorial Blvd.
The accident occurred just after 8:30 pm, when, according to Springfield Police, a 37-year-old male was crossing Memorial Blvd on foot after leaving C & D Market. MAP The gentlemen was struck by a passing motorist traveling North in the outside lane. It appeared that the pedestrian almost made it across Memorial Blvd.
The 37-year-old male was transported (emergency traffic) to Skyline Medical enter in Nashville. An update on his condition was not immediately available but we are expecting an update later this evening.
According to Springfield Police, the driver showed no sign of impairment but was cited with no proof of insurance and no drivers license.
The accident comes just three weeks after another pedestrian was struck by a passing motorist on the same stretch of road. Back on February 22, a woman was struck by a vehicle on Hwy 41 in Greenbrier. According to officials, the woman beat the odds and sustained only minor injuries. The circumstances were very similar to this evening’s accident. Both occurred on a Friday evening after dark and both victims had just left a convenience store. FULL STORY
