Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –Officials in Springfield are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 2:45 PM. Officials focused their efforts at the 17th Ave. and West Hillcrest railroad crossing. West Hillcrest was closed for several hours following the accident.
Upon arrival, officers and firefighters, along with Robertson County EMS, and the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, found a deceased male on the railroad tracks 1/3-mile southeast of the West Hillcrest Drive at Industrial Drive railroad crossing.
Officials have identified the deceased male struck by the train as 48-year-old Steven G. Traughber.
