Police Seek Sledgehammer Bandits In Ridgetop
RIDGETOP TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The AM Express located in Ridgetop MAP was the victim of a brazen burglary a few weeks ago and police are reaching out to the community for help identifying those responsible.
Police say the suspects entered the business on April 28th after 3a.m. and began hammering on the ATM with a Sledgehammer until it finally opened.
By the looks of the ATM it took over a hundred whacks with the Sledgehammer to get at the money inside. The surveillance DVR was taken during the burglary but was recovered the next day in a wooded area near by.
The DVR was sent to the TBI crime lab and 1.5 terabytes of video images were recovered. It will likely take police detectives a week or two to go through all the footage but so far they have recovered what you see in the video.
