Quick Response Saves Springfield Home From Fire

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Around 9:30 Thursday evening a Springfield family arrived home to find their home was on fire. Fortunately the fire had not had enough time to spread to the attic or adjacent rooms in the home.

The home is located on Raines St in Springfield about a half a mile from the fire station. MAP Springfield fire arrived quickly and aggressively attacked the fire, keeping it contained to just one room of the home.

According to Captain Cherry with the Springfield Fire Department, the cause of the fire is still under investigation and no one was inside the unit when the fire started.

Captain Cherry said the home will not be livable until repairs are made but the loss of personal items in the rest of the home was kept minimized by his team.

The home is a duplex but the solid construction kept the smoke damage contained to the one unit, Cherry said.

According to Cherry, the residents indicated that they did have a place to stay for the night but his agency would be putting the family in contact with the Red Cross if they needed further assistance.

The Springfield Fire Department, Robertson County EMS and Springfield Police all responded to the scene.

If the family reaches out to Smokey Barn News with any needs that they have we will bring it to you.
