Robertson County Parents Rally Against Federal Rezoning Of Schools

Last week Robertson County School’s officially announced the disposition of the Federal Government’s rezoning or the Robertson County School district.  The new zoning will take effect in the 2015-16 school year. (Zoning Maps)

Saturday, concerned parents gathered at the Robertson County Courthouse in a public event to let the community know that they disagree with the mandated re-zoning. Smokey met with the group today, our report offers the most detailed outline of their concerns. We also captured one counter point interview, a proponent for the re-zoning. Below our video report you will see the maps and times and dates for public forums on the re-zoning. For Smokey’s full report on the rezoning click here. http://youtu.be/yc_pfQ6vWhE

Let me just respond with my family is not out there against sending new people to Jo Byrns schools, purple, green, black or yellow in color. We are against forcing children from those schools to move to a school that is even further away from them. Most people buy or even build their homes in areas that they want their kids to go to school. To force them to go somewhere else is unconstitutional. If the Springfield schools are overcrowded, just bring them out to the other schools. It just does not make sense to take kids from their schools and send into Springfield. We welcome any new students to our schools no matter what race they are. Just dont force our kids to move also.

      Amen, Danielle!
While the other side circles it’s wagons around the race card the real issue is the loss of freedom. Freedom for a family to choose to live where and how they want. Not mandated by a radical socialist like Eric Holder.
What ISN’T racist about forcing a family to send their child to another school simply because of their skin color? THAT is the mandate supporters of this turn a blind eye to.
What the feds are doing is no less than extortion. Paying off the county school board to go along with their demands. Meanwhile, we’re simply watering down numbers instead of actually helping kids that need it.
This mandate ALSO forces RC Schools to seek out black (NOT ALL MINORITIES- JUST BLACK) candidates for future teaching jobs. Not hispanic, not arab, not oriental… JUST BLACK! What in God’s name ISN’T racist about that? Heaven forbid we choose the BEST person for the job-regardless of skin color. Does this not smell of ‘whites only’ water fountains?
Holder himself has a horrid history as AJ. From funneling guns to Mexico that have been used by drug cartels to dismissing voter intimidation charges against the Black Panther Party.
Some people fight for freedom while others are content being led around on the government leash.
