Weather/Roads: National Weather Service (Nashville)
Today (Wednesday 1/17/18): Isolated to scattered light snow showers, otherwise isolated to scattered flurries, during the morning hours. Cloudy skies during the afternoon hours with some lingering flurries possible. Wind chills and unseasonable cold temperatures. Afternoon high temperatures only in the upper teens to lower 20s.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Roads across the county remain covered in snow and ice so if possible, please do not travel.
While the sun will likely improve travel conditions slightly this afternoon as it melts the snow and slush on the roads, this moisture could RAPIDLY REFREEZE after dark as temperatures drop. With a low of 9 degrees expected tonight, salt and brine treatments may no longer be effective.
Please drive very cautiously this evening. You do not want to be caught hitting an icy patch at full speed!
Thursday outlook is sunny with an expected high of 34 and a high of 44 on Friday.
