Robertson County Schools Maintain Safety Focus as Investigation into National Threats Continues

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE (SMOKEY BARN NEWS) –Robertson County Schools released a statement Wednesday following “an apparent nationwide social media post(s) making threats at random schools,” the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Homeland Security have launched an investigation. According to officials with Robertson County Schools, “no viable threats have been substantiated at this time.”

“I cannot stress enough how serious these actions are. Posting threats, even in jest, is viewed seriously by our administration and by law enforcement and can lead to criminal charges,” said Dr. Danny Weeks, Director of Robertson County Schools. “Please rest assured that our normal school schedule remains unaffected, and all classroom instruction is continuing as usual.”

Authorities emphasize the seriousness of posting such threats, even in a joking manner. These actions are taken seriously by law enforcement and can result in criminal charges.

Parents are urged to speak with their children about the impact of online posts and the potential consequences of sharing threats. If any concerns arise, families are encouraged to contact their local School Resource Officer (SRO) or law enforcement directly, rather than circulating the information on social media, which may complicate investigations.

Ensuring the safety of students and staff remains the top priority. Law enforcement is working closely with school officials to address any threats, and the public is encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities immediately.
