Harbor Freight to move into Save-A-Lot Location

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Save-A-Lot in Springfield will be closing it’s doors next week, according to store officials.

The store is located on Mooreland Rd MAP Store Manager Renee Case told Smokey Barn News that the employees were told Tuesday morning. A note on the door tells customers that the store will be closing on January 16th and offers a than you for their business over the years.

Case guessed that the store had been there since the early 90’s.

Before the store closes to the public next Tuesday, customers are welcome to come by and say good-bye. Products not sold by next Tuesday will be transferred to another store, Case said.

“Our customers are upset and we’ve had a lot of crying with them because we love them, it’s hard,” Case said.

Until the store closes next week, their hours will be a little different. Monday through Saturday they will be open 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm.

As far as why Save-A-Lot is leaving Springfield, we have reached out to the corporate arm of the company and are waiting for a reply.

UPDATE: Is Springfield getting a Harbor Freight? It’s looking that way, according to Interim Community Development Director and City Engineer for the City Of Springfield  David Brewer.
