School Bus Seat Belts Arrive In Robertson County (FULL STORY)

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – This past week Robertson County became one of just two counties in Tennessee to have 3-point safety belts on its school buses.

Long debated, the addition of the safety restraints on school buses marks a change in attitudes in the wake of accidents that have left students injured and even dead.

“There have always been people that say we don’t want seatbelts on school buses, I am personally very glad that we have taken the step to make sure our children are safe in every situation,” said Robertson County Supervisor of Transportation Joshua Hinerman.

Smokey Barn News met with Hinerman this morning for a look at six new buses equipped with safety belts as well as an array of new safety-related equipment designed to protect students. See video above.
