Search For Missing White House Man Ends Sadly

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The search for a missing elderly White House man has ended sadly Saturday afternoon.

87-year-old Selton Eugene “Gene” Butler, reported missing July 4th,  has been found deceased in a wooded area in Ashland City/Pegram Tennessee around 5:50 pm Saturday afternoon. Gene’s body was located about 40 yards off the trail, according to Cheatham County Sheriff Mike Breedlove. No foul play is suspected.

“Thank you to everyone for helping us in our search and for the encouraging words. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate the next few days,” the family released in a statement.

Gene was last seen alive at 11 AM on July 4th when he left his assisted living center in White House driving his black 2008 Nissan Sentra.

Around 4:30 pm Saturday Gene’s vehicle was located not far from where Gene’s body was found. Gene was not in the vehicle which triggered a foot search by Cheatham County officials in an adjacent wooded area.  Gene’s body was found by a member of the Cheatham County C.I.D. (Criminal Investigation Division).

The staff at Smokey Barn News will be keeping Gene’s family in our thoughts and prayers as they face the days ahead.
