Betts Rd Closure: UPDATE: Betts Road NOW OPEN
UPDATE: The work on Betts Road was finished today (Wednesday June 8) and Betts Road is now back OPEN.
Why was it closed?
GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Beginning June 1, 2016, and continuing for approximately one week, Betts Road (S.R. 257) was closed to traffic from Dorris Road to Hygeia Road.
The closure was necessary due to work being performed on a natural gas pipeline that will require excavation of both lanes of Betts Road. Motorist were asked to avoid this area if at all possible.
Traffic was detoured down Hygeia Road and Dorris Road to U.S. 41 during this period.
The police department had an officer on-site 24 hours a day and only those residing in the closed area were allowed to travel this section of road during the closure.
