CEDAR HILL TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – I24 East near Cedar Hill is closed due to a tractor-trailer fire on the interstate.

The fire started just before 2 am at mile marker 22 which is located just past the Maxey Rd/256 exit. MAP

Officials tell Smokey Barn News that the semi was hauling chocolate. The vehicle is near the roadway but not on it and first responders are not dealing with hazardous materials so officials may try to get the road clear by rush-hour but expect delays and plan ahead if you are heading that way.

No injuries were reported with the fire.

According to the driver, he heard a popping noise coming from the truck so he pulled over to inspect and realized his truck was on fire.

The Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, the Plesant  View Volunteer Fire Department, the Adams Fire Department, Coopertown Police and the Tennessee Highway Patrol all responded to the scene.

UPDATE: One lane is now open but traffic is moving slowly….

UPDATE:1:45 pm, we are still showing heavy traffic in the area of the crash. Try to avoid the area if possible.
