Sheriff IDs Man Found Shot to Death/Dumped in Robertson County

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the man found shot to death and dumped near the Tennessee-Kentucky border. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Carlos Camaja, from Springfield, TN.

Camaja’s body was discovered Tuesday morning by the train tracks in the vicinity of North Qualls Road and Pineywoods Road, close to the Tennessee-Kentucky-Montgomery County borders.  LOCATION OF BODY A preliminary investigation indicates that Camaja was shot before being transported to the location where he was found. The first call to 911 came in at 5:39 AM.

Multiple agencies, including the Adams Fire Department, Robertson County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), responded to the scene. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the investigation is active and ongoing.

Authorities have not yet confirmed reports suggesting that Camaja may have been shot multiple times. The scene has been secured as investigators continue to gather evidence and piece together the circumstances surrounding Camaja’s death.
