South Mable St Rollover Injures One In Springfield
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A rollover crash on a Springfield side street sent one woman to the hospital with minor injuries Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred on S. Mable St near downtown Springfield, the first call coming into 911 around 6:30 pm. MAP
According to officials at the scene, the SUV flipped after colliding with a parked vehicle. The driver was extracted via the front windshield and was transported to TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield with reported minor injuries. “She was lucky,” one official said.
This crash will add to the growing list of rollover crashes on Springfield sidestreets however this type of rollover is relatively common. If a vehicle strikes (tire to tire) with another vehicle, the vehicle in motion will ride up the tire of the parked car like a ramp causing it to flip.
Springfield Police are leading the investigation however the cause of the crash was not immediately available. No other injuries were reported.
The Springfield Fire Department, Robertson County EMS and the Springfield Police Department responded to the scene.
