Springfield Home Fire Early Thursday Under Investigation
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Springfield home suffered heavy damage Thursday morning after a fire that started in a back bedroom. The home was unoccupied and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is being labeled as suspicious according to Captain Yates with the Springfield Fire Department and the Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.
The call came into 911 at 4:11am by an alert neighbor who noticed the fire early. Caption Yates said the neighbor’s quick response was key to saving the home. The home is located on 20th Ave West between Rice St and Main St. in the downtown Springfield area. MAP
A back bedroom was destroyed in the fire but Springfield Firefighters were able to save the rest of the structure.
