Springfield Man Shot In Violent Home Invasion Early Saturday
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Springfield man was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield early Saturday after being shot in the hand during what police are calling a violent home invasion/robbery.
According to Springfield Police Detective Chuck Bogle, the residents indicated that that three armed men broke into their home around 2:00am and demanded money.
Witlessness stated that there were four people inside the home, three women and one male, when the three armed men wearing ski masks entered the residence located on King Dr. MAP
As the three intruders entered the home, one resident was on the couch, two more were in an adjacent kitchen and a forth was coming down the hall, police said. During the robbery, the home owner pulled a 9 Millimeter Semi Automatic handgun and fired one round at the intruders.
After the homeowner discharged his weapon the suspects began to flee but not before firing back at the home owner striking the 56 year old resident in the hand, the round grazing the top of one his fingers.
During the invasion, one of the women was held down with a pistol to her throat, according to police.
The only description police have at the moment is three black males, one 6’2 to 6’3, the other two 5’8 to 5’10 wearing masks.
In all the excitement police say the intruders escaped on foot without any money.
